I’m contemplating and researching a SaaS product for SMBs. How do I go about researching the sales cycle period aside from asking the customers? Do SMBs have the shortest SaaS sales cycle?

I did some work on the side for someone and agreed to a cash rate and that they would pay the tax on it. Now they want me to fill out a 1099 but expect me to pay the tax on what they paid me which was not what we had talked about. There is no original agreement written anywhere etc. They just paid me via Venmo for some development work. Is there anything I can do about this or am I stuck paying the tax even though they agreed to pay it? (I have not yet filled out the 1099 for them)

I have minor generalized anxiety. Lately, I’ve had worse anxiety than normal, and as a result, I’m taking my second mental health day in a row. I didn’t tell my firm that it was a mental health day, I just told them I was sick with non-COVID symptoms. None of the partners I work for objected or said anything negative, but I’m now getting worried that they’re somehow going to find out it was just a mental health day instead of physical illness, and that it will somehow bite me in the ass . . .

Currently doing ID (car accidents, premises, general negligence). Although I am doing higher exposure cases, running entire litigation dockets on my own, and doing some more complex work, I just feel that I am stuck making crap money the rest of my life. Just now entering my second year. I only get considered at other ID firms. I need to leave but no success. I have things to pay and I just feel that I am stuck making no money forever.

I received a job offer with a probationary period that requires targets are met to obtain the full salary I requested. While this is not a pure sales role, biz dev and revenue are part of the responsibility of managing a 30pp department in this role.

One target requires I increase team revenue by 20% in 6 months. They haven't shared current revenue info yet, but 20% on ANY number seems really high, especially in the first 6 months.

What are some reasonable revenue increase goals you've had?

I was recently let go from my job of 7 years with an organic egg company. We were purchased by private equity and I was the first to be let go by the new SVP of Sales. Got my first saas offer. 80k salary, 140k ote with 50kstock option of I hit goal. It’s in Miami so about one hour commute each way. My experience in sales is mostly cruise sales for 8 years where I made around 150k. Is this good or should I look for remote options (are there any?). Always a top producer wherever I go. Hi there, I got an offer for an early stage cyber security saas startup in Canada and they offered me 130k base and 10-15% commissions which they estimated at 160-240k additional a year. They only have 1 sales person at the moment and I would be 2nd and they are hiring for 3 more. I’ve always been on a 50:50 model and never done the % of revenue. Average deal size is 40k. I got 12 yoe in enterprise tech sales. No stock options upfront but potentially after the first 3 months. Good deal?

How do people go about calling areas outside of your physical area code? Are you using something to mask your area code as a local code?

I am starting a new position as an SDR at LinkedIn and thus signing a new contract. It’s an entry-level position but I have already worked in the company for some time. Would you recommend negotiating the offer or SDR entry-level positions are usually not negotiable?
