It’s 5 mins in the US, which is why there are so many CDs out there who don’t have a clue, can’t write a decent ad if their life depended on it and never made a decent thing in the nana second they have been in the industry. Don’t become that person. Stay at the coal face for as long as you can, that’s where you learn the most - problem solving, not managing people who also don’t know what they’re doing.
Agree with this. Also is a nana second faster or slower than a nano second? My guess is slower b/c of their age. 😂🤓
search “senior acd” in the app and ull see a ton
I think someone just asked this, this week!
🤷♂️🤦
It was two years for me. Internal promotion. Starting acd was 130 in sf but it was a few years ago. My advice: don’t rush that move. Being a senior creative is way more fun and at high quality places you can make more money too.
5 years from intern to ACD. 3 different shops in that time. Senior for 2 years.
Pro
I skipped the ACD role and went straight to CD from Sr. AD.
If you are applying, go for the title. At many agencies it’s just a pay bracket. But you may be out of your league if they expect more leadership and accountability from you. The more time you spend as a senior at different agencies will give you better perspective.
I spent 6 yrs as a Senior before ACD but I handled more as a Senior at that gig. I direct ACDs now as I am a CD, they really should just be senior based on responsibility and expectations. Agency structure plays a big role.
If you want the title, go for it. Go outside your current gig and widen your search for best results.
