Hello, I've been advised to post my work in here to find short-term graphic design jobs. I'm currently learning how to become a mobile app developer so I'm looking for short missions to pay my bills while learning. So you can find my recent work on Dribbble dribbble.com/MentalEnergy and most of my illustrations here www.deviantart.com/lileedawn/gallery. Feel free to contact me for more information.

Other side of the coin, but I find it completely unnecessary. I went to a 5 year program and got a Bachelor of Science in "communication design". I work with a ton of people who did Shillington/boot camps/partial college with no degree, who are all more talented and better paid than I am, I have huge respect for them. A willingness to learn and be a self-motivator is what determines how good your portfolio is, and that matters way more than a diploma!
It’s still important.... depending on the program it can really jump start your thinking and ways of working. Obviously you learn a ton working at a real job, but I’m glad I had time in school to “be creative” and really thinking through ideas and make work I wanted to make vs. only having client experience. It helped me learn to feed my soul outside of work and engrained passions outside of client work. Plus building relationships early in design school have helped me on many occasions.
