Hi everyone, I am 4.9 years experienced , I joined Fractal 3 months ago as a data engineer, but still haven't got any project. Process is so slow that I have received only 4 to 5 project calls. I switched in hopes that will learn the new tech and tools. But now i am starting to forget even the one i knew. Should i go for change or wait a little more time as fractal is reputed in AI/ML? I have interview lined up with Impetus as for now. Would it be better choice?

Just recieved a offer from Western Alliance Bank for a Senior Business Analyst role. Comp 100k but the role would be in office. I currently work remote, have unlimited PTO,and a really healthy work life balance but am being underpaid tremendously. The new role seems like it does not have healthy work life balance and many red flags have already come up. I want to grow my skills and wouldn't mind being in office as I do miss being around people. How do I vet the role before accepting?

An agency has big rocks and small rocks. Their priority is keeping the big rocks from leaving. Everyone else is replaceable. Right or wrong, they see the big rocks as ultimately having the biggest influence on your work. Mostly because they’re ego monsters or the big rock above you isn’t helping make the case for your advancement. Keep jumping until you land in place that values you, or you are considered a big rock 🤘🏼
Only way to move up is by moving. In 2021, I moved jobs twice, increased my salary by 50%

Seems to be that promotions mostly happen from job hopping unless you are particularly great at office politics
Track your wins, build cross-functional rapport with leadership, make yourself indispensable, then when you see an opportunity (someone else leaving, a bigger move into a role, taking on more responsibility), ASK.
And have a plan of action for if they say no.
I did this twice this year at my current company & moved from Sr. Dir to VP and from 190 to 240
Been struggling with this myself. Been at my current job almost 2.5 yrs with stellar performance reviews. Been pushing for promotion but definitely feel like they're jerking me around. I love the account though and want to stay put but also want to be able to grow and advance. I'm also going to be on boss #3 in a few weeks again.
