I’m currently a PM with an MIS degree here in Toronto and PMP (along with other certs), and my background has become very generalized as I’ve worked on different areas of IT such as ERPs (Yardi, Workday), data automation, business analysis, IT service delivery, governance. I had originally targeted a role as a BA and try to get into consulting. Right now I’m not sure where I would fall. I have been told I could fit as a Cloud Delivery lead by another director at ACN. About to get about $10k from freelance. I have a full time job so my bills are already covered. Unsure how to split the $10k - got about $3k on credit cards to pay off, but no other debt. Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
