Hello! I’m a USI AM and some of the things that have helped me learn more and level up is really getting involved with clients on a daily basis and learning the finer details. Being included on marketing efforts, negotiations with UW, and meetings/recaps with the client will also help build your knowledge base, even if it’s just a CC to follow the discussion. Ask questions on anything you might not be familiar with or that you might want more info on.
If you already feel confident in these areas and are comfortable in communicating with your team, reach out to the producer and/or AM and ask for their input on where you could find or take on additional learning opportunities. 9/10 times, they will be more than happy to take the time to help you advance your skill set.
Talk to your boss and let them know you feel like you’re no longer being challenged and see what they can do. Maybe it’s smart to start looking at other companies.
Do you already have your license?
Have you approached your leadership to discuss advancement or career development?
You can always try to pick up an industry designation or two. You'll have to study outside of office hours but the company will typically pay for it and might even give a little bonus for passing.
