Do a little LinkedIn homework to find something that you have in common. I do this before I meet with executives and it helps to get the conversation going in the right direction. BTW - I stole this idea of Connect -> Convince -> Collaborate from the book "Insight Selling".

Just stay calm and talk about work stuff, ask them about their goals and share your goals.

I’ve been thinking about getting into sales for a while now and Repvue keeps coming up. Is that a good platform to look for entry level positions? Anyone aware of any SFE opportunities? 3 yrs relevant work ex. Which position should we apply to ?

How should I structure this? $210k in my checking account; of that, $150k is for a down payment in 7-19 months. The other $60k is my general spending / emergency fund. I would like to increase the interest I earn on the above in a risk averse manner. I’m thinking of moving all but $10k into a HYSA. Does that make sense?

I already max out my 401k, HSA and contribute $3k/mo into a brokerage, and I don’t want to dump my down payment into a brokerage.

I interviewed with Amazon previously and went far in the interviewing process. Unfortunately, I didn’t hit the mark with the behavioral interview portion. I was not told where my opportunities to improve are. Do you have any suggestions, classes, books, resources, etc to prepare and improve in future behavioral interviews?

Director 1: no need to DM me. Your RFE is a god send opportunity to let you think twice and RUN away as far as you can from this firm. You being on visa will make your life double hell for next two-three years here b4 you get a hang of things... don’t let the lure of 20-30k extra cut yourself in pieces

What’s your firms policy on coverage when you know you’ll be out and fully unreachable? If you’re at a firm where you find your own coverage (seems to be the most common) what happens if you are physically unable to find coverage from your network of colleagues but also unable to be available during a certain time frame? Kick it to the partners? Pray and hope for the best?

My company was acquired last year & new terrritoy assignments were made Jan 1st. The old AEs had until the end of Jan to close out deals they were working to receive 100% commissions & quota relief. The new AE taking over received 50% comm if the deals closed in Jan. After Feb 1st, the new AE taking on the account received 100% comm and the old AE received nothing. The two deals I had worked for months and in procurement Feb 1 close last week at 445k & $399k. $60+k comm to new AE - $0 to me. 😩

Hey everyone,

I recently started a job as an outbound, enterprise BDR.

I have no previous experience with sales, but I did really well at first. In my first two months I was at the top of my sales team, and one of the top performers in the national sales org for dials/arr.

I hit a block, and now I can't seem to get passes at all. My effort hasn't changed. But I can't get meetings scheduled.

Has anyone experienced hitting a block like this? How do you overcome it?

Seeking advice regarding salary negotiations for vehicle wear and tear (In my current role we have fleet vehicles). The new offer 95k / 155k OTE (less in salary but better commission structure, uncapped based on performance). They are currently offering gas mileage which will not support vehicle maintenance. I'm doing great at my current role selling senior health insurance (76k give or take a year) but I know I'm capable of selling at a higher commission range. My calls at my last company were all cold (around 100 a day). I got job offers as a recruiter and also a few SDR offers but both fields the base is under 45k. Which company would you join?

I currently work in Sales with the intention of moving over to marketing in the near future. I received two offers for BDR/SDR roles from
Sprout Social and Gong. Both salaries are around the same (Gong - base 63k + anticipated $25k in commission, Sprout - 55k base + anticipated $25k in commission).

I like both companies’ software and it extremely hard to decide which position will get me into marketing faster as it is not a traditional BDR path to take.

Any insight into Salesforce Account Manager: Enterprise? Is this different than an enterprise AE? Insight into comp range?

Any suggestions on how to quantify admin assist on sales? I know it’s complicated per org, but trying to find a path so admin commission on sales isn’t subjective.
I know technically everything a sales team admin does helps lead to sales but not sure how to quantify it so it isn’t dependent on the whims of a manager and whether or not they’re having a bad day.
Any suggestions on milestones or performance measures? KPIs? Want to make sure admins get a slice of the pie they helped make.

I’ve been applying for entry level SDR/BDR positions within the tech industry and even sales rep positions wth pharmaceutical companies. I have been finding it difficult so far coming from someone who has a pharmaceutical science degree and has had a lot of experience in labs and recently as a drug analyst, but with 0 experience in sales.
