I'm currently applying for a new job in public accounting. My wife and I have a 3 week vacation in November that is paid and scheduled. What are the chances or how do you go about making sure you can

Of course. Just tell them upfront.

This has happened to me twice I discussed it with the hiring manager once the offer was extended to me has never been a problem even when the new company policy was no vacations in January

All good advice. I appreciate the feedback. And going negative PTO or unpaid will not be a problem. Leaving my current firm with a 2 week notice will get a payout of 200 pto hours. I don't take vacation that often

If they wanted to hire you, another month won't affect their decision

like

If they want you, they won't have an issue with it.

like

Just mention it when you interview (near the end) or before signing the offer letter. Just realize that you'll either be going negative in PTO or taking unpaid time

like

I'd say wait until you have an offer letter to bring it up. I'd avoid telling too early in the process in case they decide to just stop and move on with other candidates.

Take the vacation at the new place of employment? Do you just tell them upfront and hopefully they understand and let you take it? At this point the vacation is paid for and largely non-refundable.

Agreed just tell them. Especially if it's an off season you're fine. Tax for instance, they wouldn't think twice about it

I'm not tax, so depending on clients served audit teams may or may not be busy with interim in November. My current firm we are dead in November and December

Don't bring it up during the interview.. After you receive an offer then talk to them. If they still want you, it shouldn't be a problem.

And depending on what level you're coming in at, we really aren't that important as an associate... The audit will go on!

Had a penultimate interview last Tuesday. An hour after the interview I got an email from HR saying they’re moving me forward in the interview process and to send some times for availability for another video interview this week.

Still haven’t heard back yet. I know it’s still a lull time of year and the end of this week is still the holidays, but would it be appropriate to follow back up tomorrow? Or should I just wait it out until after the new year?

Hi everyone - I need advice for my new project. I was hired to the firm as a consultant position but due to resource limitations these days, I’m playing a senior consultant role for my new project. The work stream of the project is just me + the manager. The manager is extremely busy so he doesn’t have a lot of time to devote to the project so I’m essentially leading most of the work. I’ve never done this before - any tips?

Anyone here meal prep? I want simple easy low effort meals for the week around 1200-1400 calories, 3 meals, black coffee and afternoon snack. But figuring out how to get all my nutrients in while keeping it simple and easy is hard. Ideally, breakfast I'd make ahead. Lunch would be leftovers from dinner. I'm okay with eating the same thing every day.
Any advice?
