Depends on your goals, are you looking to work 55-80 hour weeks (depending on study)?
Do you like the wlb and progression you have at your current job?

like

What is your time worth? Based on $120K/35hr/50wk you are selling your time for $68hr. At $160K its $91hr. If the other response is right and you jump to just 55hr/wk you would need to make $250K to match the same $91kr. 80hr? $364K. Anything less and you are only getting paid more because you are working more. And keep in mind your new job might not be remote so add in unpaid commute.

Each week you start with 168 hours. Lets assume 19 hours a day of waking time. That means you can choose to sell up to 133 hours a week. Right now you are selling approximately 1/3 of your waking hours. What are those other 2/3s worth to you because that is what you will be doing - selling more of your waking hours.

I will tell you that I have reached a point in my life where my free time is worth WAY more than $91 an hour. Selling the first hour of the day is pretty easy. Selling the last? Yeah I want to get paid for that. You want to buy my entire weekend? You better pony up $500 an hour or more.

Good luck

Due to me being an end user of their platform, coupled with all of the research I’ve done since the interview process started, i am at a loss for any questions to ask her. Any suggestions. I’ve accepted an offer for a non-partner track counsel position at an Amlaw 200 firm. Salary of 300k, expectation of 1800 billable hours. Fully remote. I’ve worked at top regional firms during my 10+ year career. I’m leaving a small book and a solid shot at partner in 3-5 years for the risks of permanent counsel and unknown biglaw bs. Wife and I are prioritizing things other than careers with this move. She’s also able to go fully remote. I’m scared but also excited. Am I crazy?

Has anyone successfully negotiated an early retirement exit through a layoff round? If so, how did you approach? I still have equity in the table vesting in the next 12 months and really don’t want to walk away from it, but would be very open to exit early and of course gracefully for fair offer. Just afraid to raise it. I suspect we have a round coming soon and don’t have reason to believe I’m in it.

Really disheartening to be led by people with less experience. I have only been staffed on 1 project as a support since joining, and it's really boring compared to leading 4/5 projects at once like i used to.
