Don’t bother coming back if they don’t want you.
You will never make it through interviews (if you ever get one) with an attitude like this
OP is giving off “No return offer energy”
OP is giving off “no initial offer” energy…
If you think our interns have weak profiles, you might be missing something…
Yeah I’d echo this. Their prior experiences aren’t what to compare yourself to because… they’re 20. So it’s their college transcripts and what they do there that counts more
Coach
I'm sorry OP but SK & KPMG are not strong internship experiences. The marketplace is clearly telling you that your profile is currently not an obvious fit so instead of complaining about it you may want to learn what actually takes to get an interview and do those things.
What really matters for MBB screening is education / academic background
Prior consulting experience doesn’t matter as much as your overall profile - leadership experience, demonstrated quant ability, and solid work experience in whatever field you pursued. Assuming you are already at a target school.
Network with alumni of your school who work at MBB, preferably at the junior levels (within four years out of undergrad). Cold outreach to random partners will not help unless you have something in common - if you don’t, it can backfire.
Not true BCG1. It’s a mix of everything on your CV.
OP - cold approaches are kind of annoying, unless you have a good enough relationship that they are willing to refer/ vouch for you. Otherwise, just apply directly on the website. For us, a cover letter isn’t needed.
Well - as an intern I would say 90% is an education background ; unless coming in as an experienced hire - but never seen as an intern . The other internship might be very marginally relevant but typically strongly correlates with education
We don’t want you…”weak internships,” give me a break.
OP, this kind of desperation is a bad look overall.
You might want to reconsider the industry, you might do better in a corporate role or just go to ibanking if you’re thirsting for “prestige” that bad.
I think Kearnies have been getting worked hard lately

A couple of years in and in a better market environment you’ll be in more demand than now when we’re facing a slowing economy and coming off a record hiring class.
You may be shocked to learn that the "weak" profiles likely have some in at the firm
Kpmg internship experience is not very strong for mbb
