I’m currently working as a database analyst, I’m trying to transition into a DBA but I don’t get any DBA type tasking, mostly ETL/sql Reporting work.. I can only learn so much from online resource and books but I need real experience , any advice ?

Does anyone have any advice on how to shift from a specialist (paid advertising) to a more strategic (in digital marketing) role? I've been job searching for a couple of weeks and would love to be considered for roles outside paid advertising but it seems to be extra challenging this time of the year.

Then 4 months gap due to personal reasons

Company 3- 1 year 8 months
Company 4- Started now( 1 months done)

Overall experience - 5 years! Plan is to work in Company 4 for longer period now but let's see how things go.

I’ve worked as a Paralegal at a large law firm since graduating law school because I was waiting to take the UBE exam in Ohio and wanted the experience of a large firm and gain hands-on legal experience. I complete traditional Paralegal tasks, but many first-year associate tasks due to my “advanced skill set.” Today, I received glowing reviews at my year-end review, but when discussing my goals I was told that I couldn’t transition into an attorney role because “large law firms don’t do that.” 😞

Hello fishes, has it become a norm with Big4s to staff candidates on pure play IT Program Management roles in the name of Strategy. Anybody in a similar soup, where your core skills lie in Business Consulting, but you are being repeatedly put in IT implementations. Experiencing gaslighting almost every second day. I m more oriented towards business than IT, and hence have a different way of approaching things. Any suggestions how to handle things except switching. Joined 6 months ago.

J1 & J2 together make about 200k although there is no room for growth in either but WLB is amazing (< 10hrs per week). Stuck contemplating if I should abandon overemploy to chase promotions seeing that I could eventually get to my current salary with my job. Just feeling a little stuck over all. My job of 25 yrs in property management with retail and apartments abruptly came to an end without warning because the trustees voted to end and sell off real estate and retire.
