Past 7+ years have earned between 600k-800k /year after building out a GTM PE practice which currently does $30M+. Looking to take that framework and replicate for any startup or mid market company with direct GTM B2B looking to accelerate revenue. What’s a reasonable ask on equity vs earned income. Thinking 2-4% and 300-400k/ year. Thoughts?

Anyone heard anything or have some advice about someone breaking into tech sales with no degree? I have a family member that is really struggling to get by working retail and I’m trying to help him pivot into a career he is interested that I think will get him to a live-able wage if he’s patient. Does anyone feel like the AEs crushing their numbers generally walk into a great account versus working really hard on prospecting? I’ve worked for Microsoft and Servicnow as a Strategic AE and I rarely saw the successful AEs (+200% attainment) doing any prospecting or needing BDR.

I’ve helped close complex sales for large scale project work but have never been held accountable to monthly revenue targets since it wasnt my primary role with the exception of a brief time spent as an SDR. Looking for input if I should just go for Sales L&D positions or start as an AE and then apply for Sales L&D. Currently have interview for AE role with Gartner.

My base is $75K w/ an OTE of $60K and my opportunity cost was a finance role at a FAANG company making ~$135K base plus $40K stock. Trying to decide if I made the right decision
