Pwc deals - Are we going to do promotion twice a year starting from this year (ie Jan and July)? Heard a rumor
No new from RP yet about promotion but Got an email from Independence Checkpoint about a new portfolio due within 5 days. Does that mean I made manager?
So this might be a better place to post this and ask this question: Uncle D has announced explicitly that most people won’t get a pay raise & bonus this year except for those promoted and high performers. Amid this crisis, are companies including other big 3, MBB, FAANG, boutique consulting firms still giving high raises and issue stocks? Can you share the impact from your firm?
When you don’t make promotion and get let go, anyone know what kind of termination that is? (“for cause”, lay-off, etc)
Wife just got an offer to go from KPMG (Manager up for promotion to SM) to Deloitte (as Manager) do you recommend pushing SM or come in as Manager with runway. Also, any recommendations for first 6m?
Some of my peers who are going for promotion got the call from our RP last week when I was on vacation. I haven't heat anything yet last/this week, does it mean I didn't get it? :/
Put in a management position after being a freelance Sr. Producer for 6 months, have no support for a year, turn the biz around, get praises for a year....no raise when raise cycle hits
How would you ask for a raise after your first year at an agency- getting a review because I asked for one, not sure they have anything planned.
Hey y'all! I just accepted an offer with Microsoft in the FRP. Does anyone have any recommendations for progressing within the company and making the most of the opportunity? I've heard a lot of stories of how crazy the salary can get so I'm definitely interested in hearing about various experiences! Potentially pivoting into consulting/product management. I'm honestly very open to multiple pathways and at this moment aiming for promotion and exposure asap!
If you knew you were getting promoted and you think your company will offer a 10% raise but the market rate is probably closer to 20-25% raise, how would you go about it?
How many percent raise and bonus should a senior going from S1 to S2 expect in raises and bonus?
Hypothetically speaking, you win a couple pencils and a couple lions. Do you ask for a raise even though you received your small annual bump a couple months ago and a...
Will Big 4 let you stay as SM if you don’t want to make partner but are still hitting SM targets? Once you take the promotion BS and partner-promotion-chasing out of the equation SM is quite fun!
What’s standard percentage raise going from M3>D1 at KPMG Digital Enablement in Tier 1 city
Has anyone lost motivation to work? After the holidays and a promotion, I thought I would start the year off renewed and ready to go but the opposite is true. Help?
Does transferring into M&A effectively “reset” your career/promotion progress? Eg. if you’re a 2nd/3rd year Senior prior to transfer, would you spend 3 more years as a senior in M&A?
Former McKinsey employee was caught working with his COO to impersonate a YouTube executive while trying to raise funds from Goldman Sachs. Is this what constitutes business these days?
Best targeted advice for interviewing with LEK to land the offer (i.e. more specific than pass the case, etc)? Specific to post-MBA consultant if that matters. L.E.K. Consulting
What is designation role of test analyst? Which is highest role between Test lead or Test Analysit?
Trying to invest more in my skincare. Is the best way to begin to go to a dermatologist? (I don’t have any specific skin issues though) Follow-up: are dermatologists generally covered by insurance?
Does anyone know if there are slots available for Dropbox for h4 visa extension in india? Also, want to get a sense of how much time is it currently being taken for h4 visa stamping (extension case) at US embassy. TIA
Looking to return to Big 4 as a consultant now that I have some experience; however, I’m not sure if the reason I’m not getting any interviews is because of covid or what’s on my resume/lack thereof. Has anyone gotten hired at Big 4 during this time and have any help or insight for me? Thanks!
Since the start of the pandemic, I have been fairly safe and really haven’t gone anywhere (I think I went to TJ Maxx once in a moment of weakness lol). My family on the other hand hasn’t taken any precautions and actually did contract COVID. They keep telling me I’m paranoid and need to start going out but with COVID being worse now than it was back in March, I rather just not. I just want them off my back and wish they would respect my decision to not expose myself like I respected them.
We know all the married people on here gettin’ laid because WFH... or at least they were before someone got on someone’s last nerve. Shout out to the singles who were mid drought pre quarantine...
Has anyone else been told by parents in a conference that you wouldn’t understand because you’re not a parent?
Useful tip: Try to maintain a file where you diligently update notes about all the projects you have worked on, what challenges did you face, your learnings, client/ manager testimonials etc. This will help you in your next interview. It is not humanly possible to remember every single detail.
Any moms here living in WA state and availed the 12 weeks parental leave( baby bonding time off) offered by the state recently?
Best examples of ramp back programs from parental leave? I get to choose my own adventure and am curious what’s worked well for others. Minimum hours required hasn’t been stipulated. Thanks!
People always say sue the company or owner. Is it that easy to sue someone? Especially around employment when people are getting laid off due to Covid. I think Deloitte or any big consulting firm it’s not easy to sue them, they are well protected
I am H1B and I’ve started my GC process. my husband is also on H1B but won’t get his GC sponsored until his next job. What happens if he has started the GC process but by then his H1B had run out? Can he still work while it’s pending with an application for EAD? Can he work as H4 under my H1B till I get my GC issued?
How do I set myself up for success in the first 30 days of my new EA role? What questions should I be asking? How often should I be meeting with my executive? 2-3 times a week or daily morning touch base calls?
Comp communications are coming up. If I am unhappy with my raise or VC can I push back? Have you done that successfully without feeling like it gave you a bad reputation? My raises and bonuses have been good in the past and maybe I was naive but I’ve never thought to ask for more.
