I’m exhausted and need a week off. No one can cover me on this project. Feeling really stuck. Even a week of working remote would be a big gain.

If you take a week off your team will figure it out.

No one is indispensable. Take a week off and when you come back you’ll be surprised to see that the world was able to move on even without you.

Big firms are good about putting health first. You’d be surprised with the support system they have in place to help you feel better. Reach out to your HR and explain your circumstances like you would to a close friend, and it’ll all workout in your favor

I need a real project. I have been remote and slacking it off for too long now.

AMEN

If no one can back you up on the project and you are this critical, you are not getting paid enough. Or, have a conversation with your manager regarding your needs and see where it goes. (Managers can often be a*holes and refuse to give importance to your situation. It is on you to sell your case)

You are entitled to your pto. The project will figure it out

Take the PTO, let the project figure it out. Tell them is a drill in case a school bus takes you out by surprise.

I'm renting co-working space for a remote job in a building specializing in providing startups with dynamically sized workspace. I think my return to the office may start as early as July (as compared to September for general pop). While it’s long overdue and I’m actually looking forward to it, I’m going to miss a lot of the perks of wfh regularly (not having to wake up 1.5-2 hrs earlier to rush on my commute, dress shirt with pajama pants, no return commute, taking breaks on my couch with my kids, etc). What are you all thinking about this and when do you expect to start going back in?

In search of advice here: I have a hybrid background in design and management. I have an opportunity to join a team as a designer and am also getting traction on an application for account management. I feel comfortable and excited doing both. How can I decide on which avenue to take? Which is better for long term growth and $$? Both options are roughly same salary. One is fully WFH one is temp WFH with 2-3day in office next spring.

I just barely started at my firm and got staffed on a project which requires travel. My firm only allows me to expense hotels on a personal card, everything else goes on the corporate Amex. I’ve had a venture one card for 2 years now but am thinking about getting the chase sapphire reserve. Kind of lost here - any advice?

Hey mummas, I'm struggling with how I feel about my team at work. None of them, including my manager, have children and they just don't get it. I'm pregnant with my third and my manager has never once asked me how I'm doing, only ever refers to it in terms of me 'leaving' for maternity leave so he'll be a resource down. Never once asked how I'm coping with juggling wfh & full time caring for my children through covid, and icing on the cake my baby just recently.. (continued in comment)
