In my personal experience marketing departments in companies that keep most or all of their marketing in house tend to have a better pulse on the direction of their marketing and so can offer a better work life balance.
I would go work for a marketing analytics org within any company. Far less work, far more impact. Lot of open roles out there

Ad agencies have low pay and bad work/life balance. Find a brand, a publisher, or an analytics firm. Get out! Also, set boundaries in your current role.

I worked in agencies for 20 years. I then went out on my own for a while. If you have a strong network you can get freelance/consulting gigs rather easily. I now run analytics/BI for an editorial/affiliate marketing website, but also do side work. I WFH, but go in now and then. It’s great. There are many opportunities outside of agencies that get you the work life balance that you want without getting lost in a cube farm.
Go to the client side, higher pay and better work life balance
Client side offers better pay, wlb, and benefits.
