I don’t think that submitting the timesheets not on time would make such a difference. If anything it was just lame excuse. Most likely your raise was linked to your company performance and prioritization if it’s shareholders and your leadership.
I honestly didn’t think so, it seems so ridiculous to me. You’re probably right.
I missed 5 but I also got $2000.. I have been with the firm for five years tho, started as an ad in and then BPG Associate for two years and now client delivery associate a year. So been an associate for 3 years now. Got passed on promoton despite good engagement reviews and written recommendations from 4 partners. My comp after five years with the firm just hit 70k this year, with the raise. There were two years in the middle I got no raise and no VC. So. Yes will KPMG screw u over for being loyal? Yeah. Am I leaving after Dec holidays?! Yep. Good reviews, recommendations etc don't mean anything if you're 30 making 70k and working 50-60 hour weeks. It's insane
I’m so sorry - this sounds awful and I’m glad you’re leaving for something better! I will leave if I’m not given decent comp/promotion next year at 3 years. Crazy that they didn’t even give you a decent salary bump :(
If this is KPMG Advisory, there is a set list of criteria that you need to meet to get Variable Comp. For timesheets, it shouldn’t have an affect until you reached 5 late timesheets. Did you ask questions about why the raise was so low?
Sorry, that sucks. They never mention that in the VC messages, but I guess if it comes down to dividing the VC pool they can use whatever criteria they want.
Yes - the timesheets were my fault I just didn’t think they would have such a big effect on my numbers. Has anyone ever been in this situation? / how to stay motivated?
