is your company hiring currently ?
Hi all, does anyone know of any recruiters or hiring managers that work in Affirm Inc. I've been applying for a couple of jobs with them . The role I have applied for I know lam a extraordinary fit for
100% and can help the company/ department succeed. I have a good deal of experience with this role and would love to talk to a recruiter or a hiring manager more about this. If anyone
could reach out to me if you have any information on that I would greatly appreciate it.

Any family law contract attorneys in NY?
Anyone here work at Wellington Management and is willing to chat with me about a Data Science / Quant role? Recruiter reached out and I’m considering whether I should interview for it. Currently work at a Global Macro Desk of a MM hedge fund (think Millennium, Balyasny, Pt72) and looking to understand more about firm culture, investment process, career prospects to the extent possible and comp. Thanks!
I interviewed for the position of Associate Human Capital Advisory role at KPMG. I cleared my first round but for the second round tgey gave me 2 case studies and one excel assessment to be completed in 2.5 hours. I think I messed up the case studies and just wrote the approach and recommendations but didn't include any other preferable portions. Is there a minimum cutoff for these assessments?

Go go go and don’t look back
I worked at a top hedge fund for a few years. It was a serious pressure cooker. You won’t believe it till you see it. Consulting is like a tropical vacation, in comparison.

Woah, that’s scary. Can you provide more details?
Try the hedge fund, but leave Bcg on good terms. Hedge fund work is more narrow, more lucrative. You should know whether it’s a fit fairly quickly. If your goal was C-Suite then the advice would be different.

I definitely don’t want to do C-suite work. I don’t think I would be a good manager.
Also, I know BCG isn’t right for me. The pace of work seems slow because of the constant iteration on slides and emphasis on IMO unnecessary slides.
It’s also further removed from business decision making than I thought. But all of the above could just be due to the MDPs I’ve worked with 🤷♀️
Yeah I left consulting to join a top hedge fund. Overall I like it but it is way more intense. Hours are better but expectations are higher and turnover seems higher as well. I interviewed with several large hedge funds and that environment seems pretty standard.

What is more intense about it?
I’d love to learn more about your day to day experiences and why there’s high turnover, if the hours are less.
It’s actually hard to describe but I find there’s way less downtime so essentially for a lot of days every minute of the day is heads down. I’ve found a much higher expectation to perform and deliver results right away and constantly. There’s less of a focus for developing people and being patient with their development. Also hedge funds tend to be more combative environments.
High turnover is due to people not wanting to deal with the constant stress, people not performing or layoffs due to the fund not doing well. A lot of people also just leave because they get better opps or want to do something else. So overall reasons not really different than consulting but with a quicker trigger. I.e 6-9 months to prove you belong instead 1-2 years in consulting.
