Even though most of my memories of the military involve me being frustrated beyond belief at how stupid things could get, I spend a significant amount of time wishing I hadn’t left.

can anyone provide insight about SitusAMC like how is the work culture and overall company?
I got an invitation for the first McKinsey round called the McKinsey Game. Any tips on how to prepare for it? Also looking for people to practice cases if I make it past this stage.
Looking to get into residential property investing for rental income. Does anyone have any good books or resources to help?
Thoughts on transitioning from L&E to a corporate counsel role. Is this a difficult transition?
Is a webmba a good option to just achieve the mba? The program I am looking at gives you a cohort that you will have the entire program. Online is the easier route for me (wife and kid, wfh, and far from campus)
It’s affordable and I believe that just having the MBA will help me in the future, I’m just trying to gauge what people think. None of the biased “it’s all about the networking” stuff. Just want to know how it’s viewed on a resume and you aren’t looking at a career change on completion
Any recs for an experience type gift in Seattle for my SO? He just moved there so really anything is on the table. Aiming to spend $100-$200 but could be flexible!
How do you deal with toxic masculinity in the workplace? I work with a lot of great people, but there are a handful of men that are so aggressive and downright sexist. I have had my boss blame me for small mistakes he’s made and refuse to discuss my performance or a raise. There are also men outside of my team who tell me how to do my job when they do not understand marketing. Is any of this remotely normal, or should I cut my losses and start job hunting?
Anyone else thinking about getting the new Gucci x Oura ring? I want to not wear a smart watch anymore so I can wear real watches again. $600 price difference from a normal black Oura (but inclusive of a lifetime membership) is only slightly stopping me.
Hearing 50+ yr olds are automatically disqualified from Partner consideration. Is that true?
JP Morgan direct payroll for a Old project migration ... Or Xoriant payroll client Morgan Stanley which has new project from scratch
What are some hard skills that I should pick up if I want to be a really great Adaptive implementor? VBA? SQL?
Hi everyone! I recently updated my book and took out some student work so that I could add in a few things I’ve been working on for the past year. Would absolutely love any feedback :) https://www.alexislmoore.com

How early is too early to go in-house? Clerkship and 1.5-2 years at firm with high billables and very unhappy. Is it a disservice to make a move so early on?
Had a full on hormonal-induced breakdown earlier tonight. I know the underlying issue is the combination of: running my own household (taking care of myself, apartment, and my two adorable turtles), working full-time+ in big law, and studying for the UBE when not doing any of the above. Just feeling overwhelmed right now and would greatly appreciate any words of advice and/or encouragement. Thank you all :))
Hello ladies! Anyone have recommendations for nice work cardigans (that are not super casual or too pricey)? Please and thank you!!!
Please help! I have been looking at options outside my firm and yesterday an in house counsel messages me saying he was moving to outside counsel and wanted me to join his external legal team. Has anyone ever experienced that type of transition? What should I ask? I am not sure if he is started his own firm and looking for an associate or for a partner and I am concerned about malpractice insurance and the fact we are located in different states. It is a company with multiple brands/clients.
About that imposter syndrome. Anyone still struggle with it? Been a litigator about 10 yrs now & some days, I don’t know if I’m actually any good at this. I work hard, and I think I am probably as smart as the next lawyer, but affirmation is hard to come by in this field. (That is, unless you’re a maIe who yells to the four winds how fantastic you are to the point where people inevitably start regurgitating the same info). Not sure how to shake this need for affirmation of my worth as a lawyer.
How often does everyone change their bedsheets?
Has anyone ever publicly called out a former employer for retaliation? I was retaliated against 10 years ago. I was told by an attorney at the time that if I sued, it would be difficult to find another job in my city. I'm at a point in my life where I no longer have to work. I'm no longer afraid.
I’m going to a friends house who just had a baby. I’m going to bring dinner that they can store in the fridge or freezer for a few days worth of meals but I also wanted to bring her/baby a small gift - what’s something that you would have personally loved as a gift right after giving birth and what’s something to bring the baby?? I did already give baby shower gift and send flowers right after she had baby - this is more of a friend bringing something to brighten their day kinda thing.
How do you deal with partners/colleagues who are essentially bullies even when they're wrong?
Women: what are some hacks you use to make your mornings go quicker? Between taking my dog out, making coffee and a quick breakfast (like toast or a bagel), washing my face, getting dressed, and doing some light makeup, I feel like it takes SO long for me to actually get going in the morning. Anyone have any tips or tricks?
I am a 46 year old attorney. My live-in partner of 6 years is a 51 year old non-attorney. He works hard from 8 - 5:30/6:00 and then is done for the day. I have to log back on after dinner; he does not. I have kids who live with me 1/2 the time; he does not have kids. I cook all of our meals (except for those that are take out) and generally do the post-meal cleanup. I have asked him to help with this, and he has gone so far as to put away food, but when it comes to…cont in comments…
What do you do to take a mindful moment or get away from work mentally? I’m noticing myself think about work constantly (before bed, after waking up, in between watching shows, when I’m just trying to sit in peace!) Sometimes having things simmer in the background can lead to a spark of inspiration for an argument, but this doesn’t feel sustainable?
Just a bit of a rant - I’m back to the office after a prolonged absence (a week in the hospital and six weeks of leave due to illness) and people keep commenting positively on my weight. I lost about 30 lbs in 7 weeks due to being sick, and I’m just starting to get an appetite back again. I’m still dealing with some health stuff but more or less had to go back as I can’t afford to be on employment insurance anymore. I know the comments are well-intentioned but I hate it 🙃
Received an offer to lateral to a big firm. The benefits package includes health, dental, disability etc. but no mention of their parental leave policy. I don’t recall my current job spelling that out either in my offer. Im not planning on having kids in the immediate future but I am curious of the policy at the new firm. Fair question to ask or will it scare them if I do?
has anyone taken a big (50% or more) pay cut to move to a smaller firm / different market and glad they did? the salary is a tough pill to swallow but current firm is toxic and offer on the table with new firm which seems like it has decent people and a better lifestyle.
Suggestions for comfortable work shoes for women for a standing desk? Looking at birdies or maybe Rothys?
Trying to train myself to wake up earlier as it just feels like there are not enough hours in the day. Closer to 5, 5:30. Any suggestions? TIA
Has anyone managed to lose weight while practicing? I’m turning 35 in a couple of months and am 20 lbs overweight. I’m finding it IMPOSSIBLE to move the damn needle on the scale. Anyone have similar experience?
