I'm frustrated. Everywhere I've worked I've gotten great reviews and even leadership awards. At my last company my boss was promoted to CAO. She hired a director but made her VP of HR at hire due to someone leaving. VP ran 6 HR directors out of the co (we all left without jobs lined up). After I left my team quit & the CAO was fired. Now they promoted this VP to a Sr VP. I gave so much, got nothing, yet she fell into SVP. I have a new Director level job. How do I break into the VP level?

Hubs is starting to interview for senior legal roles. Hasn’t had a haircut during covid, and it’s curly and fantastic. Looks awesome. Does he need to cut it to appear “professional?” (He was laid off in April, so we’re getting anxious)

Have I just had bad luck with the companies I've been at or is it like this everywhere? I've had 7 managers in my 4 years of experience, 3 in one year at my first position (which is why I left) and now 4 at the 2nd company in 3 years. There has been a mix of people leaving and people getting fired but the instability feels extreme.

Something’s been weighing on my mind. I messed up in a steering committee & tripped infront of the Sr. Client Stakeholders. I made a few other mistakes and was rolled off by my manager (SM) b/c I sucked and it was a higher burn engagement he needed a stronger BA. Now I find out he might’ve been laid off and I can’t help but to think it was my fault. We never really talked after this engagement but I feel like it’s my clumsiness that him fired and it makes me feel guilty and give a me anxiety.

I just got laid off about a month ago. It was the biggest blessing because the place was severely dysfunctional. I’ve been in tech for over 12 years and I was told how standard practices were wrong by my colleagues. I’ve been interviewing like crazy and I am getting traction with all of the FAANG companies. These are my dream jobs and I feel like I am getting close to receiving offers soon. They say success comes to those who have something to prove, and I have a LOT to prove to the haters!!

Hey all - I wanted to ask if anyone has ever felt that things were not going to work out. I was a consultant for a T3 consulting firm and, despite excellent reviews was laid off without warning. I went to a startup like company in Texas and was under an abusive boss where I worked over 85+ hours and could not afford an apartment. I left to keep my sanity. I am told that I am highly skilled and have the capacity to be one of the best but I keep failing. I am 26 and my career feels like purgatory.

I’m working on my application for a role at Google. Is there a particular time frame from the time the posting appeared, within which I should target submitting the application? E.g., the position got posted on LinkedIn on Monday and it may take a week to network a bit, complete the application and submit. Do you think I should rather try to submit it earlier? I recently got laid off and am really grateful to have received a job offer pretty quickly. It’s for an outsourced HR company where I would be HR/Payroll Manager for about 10 small to mid-size clients. Curious people’s thoughts on if this would be a step back career wise? I had a company offer me a position under the original range and after I’ve turned down the role multiple times they have come back with an offer with a better title and $30k more. This huge shift put a bad taste in my mouth, but wasn’t sure if I was begin too critical because I wouldn’t operate that way as a recruiter.

I found a new job (huzzah!) and turned in my 2 weeks notice yesterday. But I started feeling crummy last night and went to the doctor for a COVID test today. Lab results already came back positive. So now I feel super guilty about basically calling in sick to my last two weeks of work...should I try and push out my start date to help out current employer? Advice for transitioning from Talent COE to HRBP?

I have spent my career in Talent COE (L&D, Culture, Change Management) and I am looking for HR business partner experience. I have a few Informationals lined up with HRBP hiring managers at my current org. What are good questions to ask? Any tips to demonstrate that I am ready/can transition into an HRBP role? I’ve been a manger since 2016, so preference is for at least a lateral move.

Looking to brainstorm a bit here: my fiancé is potentially going to start looking for a new role after tax season is over. He has about 3.5 years of experience as an account manager at an environmental tech company and then made a career switch to accounting at his family’s firm for 3 years. I think he would like to get back into sales/account management but looking to see what everyone’s advice would be in terms of type of roles and companies to go after!

I have been in various customer service/support roles for the entirety of my career but am now interested in transitioning into a HR role. I am on the "Bench" with Disney GHRO (since March 1st) and have no idea if/when I will receive an offer.
