[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

Amen to the influencers. But as someone who has shot both scripted/storyboarded ads as well as docu-style branded content, I think the docu stuff is way more fun to shoot!
Me too!
I’ve enjoyed docu style production because I like the challenge. Emphasis on the word “style”. Finding the right cast that’s real people but engaging on film. Finding the right locations. Making it look rich on a shoestring...that’s all very challenging and that’s where the fun is. Anyone can point and shoot, but it often looks just like that. And really, big budgets can make us complacent. Tiny budgets can be a fun puzzle, though they can also be maddening.
Making something look spontaneous but actually controlling every element is kind of a thrill. I mean, look at reality television. That stuff is heavily produced and it needs to be!
Also I like that those kinds of productions tend to be for longer pieces. I do still love a :30, but I like the challenge of holding attention for a 2:00.
In the end, though, we have to keep moving forward. We may never go back to the good old days. They weren’t always that good anyway. Not for everyone. As Don Draper often said (yeah I’m watching Mad Men right now 😃) “Move Forward!” although he rarely skilled when he said it.
I hear ya. We need to bring back the fun. And stop relying on docu style, and influencers.
Let’s just bring back quality, fun and creative creative!!
I blame SAG, joking - but not really.
Get a client to pay for your script, simple. Or you can moan about some talented people being able to work and make content
I agree with the above comments. I think it’s not just budget related but depending on the category and assuming it’s done well it’s incredible effective. Before I buy a car or take a drug I want to hear from those who’ve been where I might be headed. Yeah I know it’s often formulaic but there’s the challenge. How do you avoid all those doc style cliches like looking out of a window shot from outside, or swings made of tires in a front yard or sad close ups? Well, a good producer demands better. And actually to do it well demands a good producer. To make an unscripted production empathetic and interesting is a lot tougher than shooting a script.
I tend to agree with OP. It was nice when it wasn’t abundant. Need to see more scripts and less 4 minute montages.
