I want to switch role as an AWS developer. But I have just learnt the things on my own in AWS. In interview I am asked questions based on real scenarios on which I am not having any experience. Any suggestions? Even if I do hands on on services like Linux academy or quiklabs, it would not help. (AWS cloud migration experience one can get if worked on a real project). Please help.
I’ve recently moved to industry after 8 years in consulting (12 yoe total). Am now a client for the first time with some big names working for us. (Contd)
What are the potential consequences if I pick up a bookkeeping client and don’t tell my employer about it.
What are some worthwhile certifications if work is paying for it? Predominantly serve as a project manager but not tied to it, so would be interested in more generic/interesting classes/certifications etc.
Being seconded to a client as an experienced consultant (but I have none), I didn’t know until I joined the project and the Director did not tell me they require experience before joining. So recently I asked the client to walk through a process an experienced consultant should probably know. I got an email from the Director asking me to stop asking clients questions like these and avoid mentioning I have no experience etc. What could I have done? my inexperience will show anyway right?
My CD is so fucking unoriginal he pitched "Life moves fast" to a client as a tagline. And thought it was brilliant.

Struggling with JE’s for earnouts paid post-acquisition. Amounts were paid out to former owners in a prior period. I think the entry was Dr. accrued expense; Cr. Cash. Now it’s sitting in accrued exp, so I asked why and the client says it was wrong and is reclassing now by Dr. Investment in Sub; Cr. Accrued Exp. (Investment in sub rolls up into current liability.) Does this make sense? I’m so confused about what this should be.

This is a question for the auditors in public accounting firms. Do you know if there’s been any discussions about PA firms pushing back on clients filing deadline because of staffing shortages? Im on the tax side helping a prep and my client said that tax auditors have heard whispers about it and that a mid size firm already came out and told some clients that they will be prioritizing based on the statutory deadlines rather than when they want to file.
Got an offer from KPMG for Consultant in SCCM role for US based project. Could any one tell me how is the Infra wing here, my friend use to work for Deloitte and the work environment in his project is sooo pathetic. Resource crunch, no leaves, every 4th Saturday work activities, blah blah blah So I am worried if that is the case with KPMG or other big 4 as well. And if anyone can tell what would be the perfect package for the role with YoE 4.5, offered 14.5LPA as fixed.
