I’m getting married in 20 days and my Bach party is next week. I have no interest in work at all or picking up any new cases. I’m pretty much just hiding out. Is this normal?

Lol agreed. My excuse is that it’s Wednesday and I have no interest in working or picking up new cases.

Am I the only one dying over here picturing OP renting out a conference hall just to play Bach music before his/her wedding??

likefunny

I seriously thought this was some newfangled Gen Z thing for a minute.

Totally normal. You don’t even need a Bach party as an excuse.

Totally fine to go fugue before a Bach party

I live in a building with new construction (constant jackhammering) going on next door. Is there anything I can do? I primarily WFH and I can’t even take a call without everyone asking about the background noise.

I am a young and a woman of color. I am an incoming associate at an established firm in a relatively small city (~80k population). I like the firm very much. I am, however, the only woman of color at my firm. I grew up on the nearby reservation. I have recently been vocal about a local business changing its name. The name venerates an individual who massacred native people. It made the news. Am I ruffling too many feathers? Should I be less vocal now that I will be a lawyer? I feel uncomfortable
