What should my requested salary be for a Senior Intelligence Analyst position with CrowdStrike ? I have a bachelors degree and 5 years of experience as an intelligence analyst. Current salary is 56k in NC, but when I was in DC I was making 86k (big locality change)… which makes me confused on what I should expect for a remote job.

Tis the season 🤦🏼♀️😂🎄
lol HR has no decision power. It’s the partners. Get some in your corner. Understand market value and where you are in relation to it based on city/skills/experience. Better yet, come to the discussion with another offer in hand. Otherwise you’re not going to get anywhere. HR follows partners directions, that’s it
Wouldn't bringing a competing offer put a target on your back? I.e. the firm knows you have intentions of leaving so may staff you on worse projects / downplay your performance?
Come to Cap we start M’s at ~160k plus 20k signing and 13-26k annual bonus. Dm if you want a referral

Perhaps use a Deloitte offer as a negotiating piece to raise your salary, and if the counter is not enough leave for Deloitte. You are underpaid though.
I got 120 as a consultant ant another government contractor. They’re lowballing you. Get out of there!!
I’m an L8 within AFS and make $135k. You should ask for a salary review.
I asked for a salary review December 2021. They declined a raise because I got a great bonus. In touch with my MD again to try again, but this is exactly why. I have a lot of direct reports and it’s frustrating to know at least one is paid more than me at a L8
I left Accenture and joined D. GPS as a SC at 144k.
I’m at 185k as an exp L8. Granted I’m on the higher end for my level but you’re underpaid my friend. If you like Accenture either make peace with your pay or get a competing offer. If you’re even semi on the fence, take the leap and exit for better pay. You can always come back later.
Vote with your feet
Deloitte GPS isn’t going to be much better, if your concerned with comp - you should leave federal. Come over to the dark side. 😈
SC1 level 8 or level 7?
Homegrown is always less than experienced hire. Go somewhere and come back in 18 months
How are you underpaid if your current employer isn’t trying to pay you more and you don’t have a competing offer? $133k for a M doing govt work doesn’t sound that low to me.
Listening to other salaries without context is silly. Go get an offer
Oh, the OI is just insane
I’m actually moving over to Deloitte gps, lateral move consultant at AFS but making 89k base in DC to consultant at D for 125k base. Get an offer and negotiate, you should definitely be getting more. Home grown that dosent advocate for themselves will always make less
I have been here since March 2021
Leave...simple as that. Don't waste time trying to convince anyone at the company. Spend that time polishing your CV and interview skills. Best of luck.
Maybe ask HR where you are in your band. They'll say you're on low end. Use that to negotiate with your boses or a salary adjustment. Also do research and say other firms pay xyz and ask how u could get that there. Also apply and interview a lot. Being marketable and competitive is a skill that takes practice. You may have to leave. Firms usually will hire external at higher pay then they'll rause internal folks too (unless you leverage an offer). They take you for granted, which you are if you won't leave. Treat yourself like a busi ess and maximize your profits homey.
Underpaid. I'd say M in Federal is usually 145-175 but can go even up to 200 for the right projects or portfolios. I've seen places like GT offer like 125 which made me laugh when they told me. When I talked to EY I think they said like 140. If your group just has shitty underbid and low margin projects they might not be able to pay more though. Federal margin is just low. We're talking net net like 12% is "good." It's all about the bill rates and projects in federal that make or break it. I was able to make 160 with a small business, but I had coworkers making 200. Needless to say, I'm out of federal now though...
The issue is you're one project as part of a larger portfolio within your practice/area. Your project individually might have great rates and margin, but then you're likely going to be subsidizing other projects in the portfolio plus overhead. That's how larger businesses work and why in the federal space you can sometimes make more in small businesses with less of a portfolio and overhead.
Talk to your md. They have the power.
VERY low. DC I was told starts at $177. Goes up from there
My pay is exactly the same for the same level and YOE at AFS. My buddy I got hired about two years ago makes like 20k more at level 8 though (they started at level 9 here).
I’m in a very similar boat. I get to work with the best people doing really rewarding work. I wouldn’t want to leave but have to do something to change the situation. Here’s to hoping we both find a way to feel more valued.
Wow that sucks. I was given 150K with 4 YOE as L9 in S&C
AFS? I’m an experienced hire and have 7 YOE
Wow .. way underpaid
