I’m getting ready to start my FT position as a HUC (Health Unit Coordinator) in Labor and Delivery. I know it will be a while before I do anything of the sort, or IF I do anything of the sort. But I wondered if there were any other HUCs on here who crosstrained? (Wether as a PCT Patient Care Tech, Medical Records, or Telemetry?) was it worth it?

This month I have come to facing that reality that I need to leave my current company due to lack of growth within my career path staying in sales and business development. Primarily no opportunity to not relocate to work remote. Not interested in switching to marketing or enablement there. Interested in advisory, technology consulting, project management or remaining in business development in Chicago. Anyone open to sharing where you are/what you do for a referral and advice?

Hi all, new to this thread. Have a slight dilemma. My current employer is in the photonics industry, I have an entry level position that is base 70K, brand analyst role. Background: My manager + the “career” track just paid for my data analytics bootcamp at Cal Berkeley. I also have 2 years left of unvested RSUs. However, a smaller non-profit company is offering me a chance to move towards a Data Analyst role, base 120K (remote). All things equal, is it a bad move to not leave my firm?

I left the hospital system I worked at for 18 years in April. One of the RNs I used to work with got me in. The job is less stressful but I feel like I’m not using any sort of skill in my role. I can’t imagine staying until retirement, the work can get repetitive and boring and I just know I can’t do it forever. My husband is completely burnt out in his role and might have to take quite a large pay cut if he takes a new role. How soon is too soon to look for new roles?

Pay is fine (could be much better.) I’m still interested to challenge myself and build my career so I do want to move to something more fast-paced as things get back to normal. On the other hand I don’t know if I should keep this job and use the extra time to work on side-hustle and hobbies. Also may apply to MBA next year.

Advice on talking yourself up in interviews to place yourself above your typical year’s pay/skill? I’m a 2nd yr that is way more qualified than just doc review/discovery/shadowing more senior lawyers but I don’t want a firm to use that as justification to kill/dump me with work. LCSW 50k loan repayment- Has anyone been granted a contract through the National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program? I’m interested in applying for the 2 years of full time work as an LCSW but my loans are a bit under 50k so I’m wondering if they would only give me what I need to clear my loans or would I still get 50k as long as I complete my contract ?

Supervisor said I couldn’t have week off for vacation this summer bc another coworker of higher seniority asked off the same week and two people can’t go on vacation at the same time because of staffing. But this coworker that asked off works different shift than me? He works 1st shift I work second. We have a total of 8 workers and no more than 4 work a day. can easily be covered. Good evening Everyone, I have been a PSR for 10 years with the same company, but worked for 5 different practices. Was looking to move up in our company but from what I’m understanding, we have to have a degree in management. How would I go about trying to move up in and out of my position without a degree?

A patient of mine essentially asked me to fraudulently bill his insurance the other day. My response was records can be audited at anytime which could result in my license being put at risk. He asked me how many times has that happened? I was like that doesn’t matter. I spent way too much time, money and effort to get to where I am.
