I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

An out of office saying you’re out, won’t have phone/email access, returning X date, and which of your coworkers/staff to contact if it’s an emergency.
Additionally I’d send internal reminders out 2 weeks and 1 week in advance.
Because of the last minute rush that ALWAYS happens no matter how many heads ups you give, I say my last day in is 1 day before I’m leaving. That way instead of getting emergency calls on my way to the airport, they come while I’m in the office wrapping up things.
Agree with this 100%
Is that your out of office lol?

Good idea!??
Don’t say that. Just say you will be unavailable until then.
I always find it funny that out of office is insufficient for people to know you can’t be reached lolz
Yea that’s a “run away!” Situation
I think the real question is why OP is only taking a three day vacation that ends in a Saturday.
Hourly workers who punch in/punch out are really the only ones who can clock out for however long and NGAF about work until they’re back. Salaried professionals make way more, have more flexibility (technically), but the responsibilities to be managed are 24/7
In-house doing both litigation and commercial work. It’s not a WLB issue, it’s a control issue. I try to keep up with emails on my day off via phone, and ignore the irrelevant stuff, fire off a quick email to handle small things or send to someone to handle. That way I’m not buried when I get back.
When that email from a business partner with 8 people CC’d comes in, it’s nice to quickly shoot it off to someone to step in, rather than let it turn into a 40 message thread as they panic without papabear to hold their hand
Rising Star
Craft your out of office email well. But, for me, even if I were climbing Mount Everest, I’d go nuts if I couldn’t check up on my companies and staff. But that’s just me.
This.
LOL. Set your OOO to exclude any “in case of emergency” contact info.
Lol no, but remind people ahead of time
Nope. Just say you will have intermittent access
So OP is stuck working regardless. That’s ridiculous.
