Adderall. I’ve been prescribed 30mg but I’ve been lowering my dosage down to 7.5mg a day over the past year. Once the tolerance built I just became so much like my old self on top of a substance that doesn’t create lasting benefit? So on top of having ADHD being dependent on outside energy just seems so counterintuitive to me! Feels like I have more ADHD because my brain is slowly becoming fried on this stuff. I know it’s not a lot of mg for neurotoxicity, I just know if I really stick to a good schedule with exercise, sleep, meditation and boundaries I could probably be better off in the long run. This isn’t to knock anyone who really has lasting benefit from the same dose daily overtime. I just really don’t feel that way for myself. Tbh, I feel like meds should be prescribed to be use sparingly like coffee. I get that doctors want to avoid abuse but instead they promote neurotoxicity indirectly by prescribing meds daily over a long period esp time since you’ll have to keep upping your dose for the same effect. There are studies that show you are pretty much back at baseline ADHD symptoms (+ long-term side effects ) even with the meds so I’m dumbfounded by this bandaid approach. It’s now day 4 for me.

Amen! I thought I was the only one. I’ve cut down from 30 mg adderall XR in the morning to 20 mg adderall IR in the morning with 10 mg IR in the afternoon on an as needed basis (which I usually take only 1 to 2x a week). Baby steps here... My biggest fears are losing productivity and weight gain. Already gained a couple pounds but I think that’s part of the process

I’m on day 4 of adderall detox too!! Honestly, it has kept me in my job way past my expiration date and it got to a point even the adderall couldn’t help me focus, so I totally agree with what you said! Eventually your brain will override it. Adhd keeps you honest about what you’re interested in at least.

What meds are you on and why do you feel it holds you back? My shrink just doubled my dosage and I’m having mixed feelings...

C at BCG and ~10 months from PL promo (fully on-track). Looking at a manager role at Shopify in their strategic finance department 1. Is this title too low? 2. Anyone know what comp looks like at Shopify? 3. Would you wait till promo and try again for something more senior, or would you jump now (not in love with the job at BCG, but don’t hate it either)?

How do you interpret when a co-worker keeps saying something is confusing, even after you explain it numerous times? I don't want to go into details on here but I swear, it is very simple. No matter how many times I explain, they find a way to bring it back up, copy other people on emails to talk about it, and send me random messages complaining about being confused. Every time, I address as best I can. It's starting to feel like a jab, game, something to make me look stupid. Thoughts?
