I completed a Loop for an AWS PgM position and the interview team completed their debrief today. After the debrief, the recruiter reached out to schedule a follow-up call to discuss results without providing much detail. Does this mean I can expect an offer or do recruiters call to communicate the decision regardless of yes/no on moving forward? Amazon
Use levels / Glassdoor to build out cash flow timelines for yourself - supplement with primary research asking folks how long they stayed in each / what exit opportunities they saw on the backend
Probably true. It has the best work life balance of these industries too, so that’s worth considering to me.
It’s a useless question. If you can stick it out, obv the order generally is finance>consulting>tech. Answer is unique based on your ability to last in tough work environments
Of the people I know in my 20+ year career the most consistently financially successful folks are the ones that went the finance route.
Consulting can be very good money if you stay for the long haul but there’s a much lower ceiling than finance or corporate roles and most people only stay a few years.
Tech (or for that matter other corporate roles) have the most upside but also the most potential variability over the course of a career. Luck is a big factor in that. In tech agism is a big thing - don’t expect a job past 50.
I assume you’re an MDP at BCG. When you say ceiling for consulting is low, what do you mean? I hear senior partners make 5m
I didn’t say it was a low ceiling. I said it was lower than the ceiling in finance or industry…also very few people in consulting make $5M.
Point being some people can and do make much more than that in finance or industry.
