Well at Oliver Wyman one of the senior leaders decided it was a good idea to post to everyone that Ai Weiwei has some wise words when he said that China was building morgues and not hospitals. So I called him out on his bs and asked him to explain why you would need 20 football fields worth of morgues for 800 dead and to use his brain more next time before posting these types of insensitive remarks....the only group you can get away with offending in America is Asians.
Last sentence. Totally true
When there was a flood, a bombing, or a natural disaster in the white world, we posted #CityStrong. When a huge epidemic engulfs China, we yell at Chinese / Asians to go home. What a crazy world we live in
I’m in Japan now and sadly see plenty of anti-Chinese sentiment here as well. Instead of fighting over who is more racist, can we just lament the ignorance and prejudice that can be seen around the world and stand together to fight racism and xenophobia?

Chinese could be racist too and have their issues. But I’m pointing out how Americans have weird selective racism that affects international opinion and news. For example, during election time they fight for Mexican and Black votes but ignore Asian votes. Or they condemn China on a relatively little thing like a person getting silenced, but then hundreds of people are getting murdered in South America. Or a terror attack that killed three white people gets international attention and then ignore the terror bomb that killed 70 people in a Muslim mosque in Iraq.
Not worth reporting to police - too much hassle and unlikely to actually get me anywhere other than elevated stress levels. Instead I flipped the finger and shouted "racist!" back :) (taking the high road, lol)
To not identify myself, let's just say it was a Germanic city (not many Asian BCGers in this part of the world... 😂)
Omg so it was Germany? Actually also experienced something weird last week, got in a cab in germany and driver started chatting about how the world is panicking about the virus for nothing and I nodded and agreed .. out of the blue he says ‘but you may not even come from china, are you?’ Like wtf it was so awkward
You all pretend like the Chinese are not racist. People in mainland China are extremely racist. I mean I’m sure you see it within your own families too

Summary - folks need to stop finding ways to hate China for the coronavirus outbreak and do something useful and support the dying people. This is a humanitarian crisis, not an opportunity to be racist toward Chinese people.
I can’t count the number of times people shouted ‘chinoiserie!’ or ‘Ching Chong ling long!’ or ‘konichiwa!’ etc etc at me in Europe.
Still disheartening to see violent assaults against Asians however.
True that! Common occurrence while i was growing up. My impression is that those types of remarks have gone down drastically in the last few years though

Yeah. And often times if you stand up against it, white people will feel offended you didn’t allow them to say a racist joke to your face.
Sorry to hear that. Where in Europe was this?
