LTI and Mindtree merger planned on 6 May as per media report . The brand name Mindtree will be dissolved. Seems appraisal discussions and hike is pending due to this event.
Don't expect good hike and people who can sense the future work culture , will start looking for the change now

I've been asked why I default to calling people "they" and answer that it makes things simple because you cant read another person's mind and in emails names and genders can be very ambiguous. It's an easier default option which is more inclusive and requires me to put less effort into writing.
Not every trans person is going to share that they are trans openly, especially while undergoing HRT. Also given that consulting is largely white males often with a conservative lean... why would they share? l Using a gender neutral term can make their day just slightly better and requires me to put forth less effort.
Being inclusive never killed anybody is my outlook.
PwC suggested that we do it in one of our news emails months ago and I immediately added mine. Haven't heard a peep about it.
That thread was heartbreaking, clearly still have a ways to go.

Same at AlixPartners! And we are generally a very white straight older cis-male population and generally stodgy but no outward/direct pushback though I am sure that there are many who don’t get it (which is okay) but I doubt many are offended by it.
Kearney made it a thing over a year ago. It’s even on our business cards now.
The only pushback I’ve ever got for pronouns is on that thread.
Sad that so many people feel so strongly about something that has zero impact on them, but a big impact on someone else.
I used to find these pronouns so ridiculous and trolled ppl with it until a gender queer friend told me how bad they feel when mispronounced and then felt guilty and started using them religiously
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Also, I 💓 west Monroe 1 on that thread

Samesies! I even commented on that string expressing my likeness for WM1! 😘👏🏽
The ignorance in that thread 🤭

Not just ignorance, the sheer lack of empathy and/or lack of interest in learning about something one is less familiar with is just mind-boggling. 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
No push back at ZS; it’s quite widely adopted. I’ve also heard clients actually be very receptive and asked us about it.
I think there is general understanding in the trans community that if you're for example nonbinary.. it will be hard for people to grasp.
In any case we had a training at west monroe unfortunately the turn out was pretty low when I went. But it was an nice start to at least get the inclusion ball rolling.

Regarding OP‘s surprise, I honestly think social acceptance of trans rights lags that for LGB rights by at least a decade, maybe two. And I‘m talking Europe/North America.
Language for sure could be more user-friendly - and “they” is actually a good example. But biggest driver of change will be people coming out so that everyone realises they have friends/family who are trans and it’s not just some distant niche group they can troll
Shocked at the ACN folks on there. Certainly glad my pronouns are in my email signature so that they will avoid me. It happens with such a large organization though, I suppose.
No pushback here. Slalom has a format for corporate signatures and business cards that has pronouns by default, and I’ve been using it since mid last year.
I know there were a couple of firms with questionable responses but Deloitte need to do something about their inclusivity training.
I have my pronouns in my signature and no one has ever commented
That post actually depressed me. So many likes on so many “Doesn’t make any sense to me, I have free speech” comments 😕

There was a lot of garbage from ACN and D, was surprised too!
I’ve not gotten push back, but we also have zero trans or NB folks. We have openly gay and lesbian folks. I don’t know whether it would be an issue or not. I often am asked my pronouns usually after I’m called “sir”, which on one hand is nice, but on the other hand I’m kinda like butch/masc is and has always been a thing.
