I’m hoping that during this pandemic districts become more aware of what’s a necessity in education and well.... what’s just a “want”. After teaching for many years districts have created no necessary jobs when $$ was good... w/o really thinking if the funds would always be there. Districts shouldn’t be creating program specialist jobs .... that’s what their calling them and people who have that title are also receiving regular teacher pay as well and are currently teachers.

Some days I feel the misery. Other days I talk, walk, laugh, work. The misery is less palpable but the joy remains non-existent. Things that used to bring me joy e.g., activities, people, etc. now bring emptiness. Not sadness, necessarily, but hollowness. Echoes. Shadows. Is this depression?

How hierarchical are your firms? Mine has a real “this is where you fall on totem pole” vibe. I often wish there was more of a team feel rather than constant brown-nosing towards those “above” you and constant disregard for those “under” you.

HR from old job wants to reach out to me about something I mentioned in my exit interview. Why would HR want to reach out to me when I’m no longer employed? Been at my new company for a month now. I left bc my old boss was not good. I dealt with HR in past about the issues with my boss & team for months but of course HR was no help resolving the issue. Insanity. Warning notices go out next week. How in the world are we supposed to give accurate grades with parents who won’t let their kids “fail”? We’ve got parents whispering words into the ears of their kids during DIBELS testing, parents who interfere when I’ve specifically told them “let your kids figure it out. We are working on them becoming independent.” And so on. Ugh... so annoying.
