I’m horrible in cases which is one of the main reasons I don’t pass final rounds. For those that struggle with case interviewing, how did you improve? I’ve been practicing but still struggle.

This hasn’t been said here and it’s really important. Obviously your logic and calculation skills matter a lot, but what matters nearly as much (maybe more for some recruiters/interviewers) is your ability to communicate and sell your ideas. You have to remember the firm only makes money if their employees can convince the client the work needs to be done. So obviously work on your frameworks and do practices alone, but also practice communicating your ideas in a convincing fashion and remember to never go through a case “asking” if this is what you should do. In a case, the interviewer is the client and clients never know what they want. You have to tell them.

Note, I am a high performer at work, but I like to take my time to properly think through problems, so having to come up with something without much prep in am interviewing setting can be difficult for me.

Honestly given the nature of the case interview, you might not be a good fit

2nd Victor Cheng. Watch his YouTube videos and just remember 2 or 3 frameworks that you can leverage for different problems

Honestly, just practice. No one cases well in the beginning, and it's a learned skill to apply frameworks quickly

Sounds like your approach to practice is flawed. Re-evaluate it. If you are practicing alone, stop that. Practice strictly with partners preferably folks who have been doing cases recently and passed the case at top firms.

I’m interviewing for in-house and firm roles and I’m not sure how to navigate the compensation issue. I don’t want to leave compensation on the table and end up feeling undervalued later.
