I’m hourly. I coded today as a holiday already in my time sheet but I need to work a few hours today. Do I enter the time worked on top of the 8 hour holiday already coded?

I’m not sure a bunch of random people on the Internet would know your employment terms for wherever you work. The responses would be meaningless. I would ask your employer

At EY if we have to work a holiday we can use the holiday time else where, like a few weeks later when we have the ability too, but I’m not sure how it works if you get paid for holidays and what not if you’re hourly

Because I’m working and need to charge the client for my work

Why don’t you just reduce the number on the holiday code?

Idk. That makes sense to do for PTO, but a holiday seems like it should be a full 8 hours given regardless, so I’m confused. Would you tell your team to do this?

Shift the work time to another day if they won’t pay you for the holiday time and work time today.

Love that will do thank you

When I work on holidays, I charge my time to the client and the rest to holiday. I use the remaining holiday time another day. In tax, we do this every year for Labor Day.

Probably depends on your overtime policy since it would put you over eight hours. But I agree with the comment above, you should check with your HR.

Does anyone work for Children’s medical center of Dallas on this form ? I know we recently had a “employee appreciation” bonus last month before Thanksgiving but not sure if that counts as one whole holiday bonus including Christmas , or it it’s safe to expect another in mid December ? What seems to be the latter in the past ? Any thoughts are appreciated !

Tips for not crying when you’re asking for leave? I’m so stressed and overwhelmed with work and the CPA exam and I want to take time off to just put all my energy into the exam and be done with it. I want a month and a half to finish it up and then have a week or two to decompress before I come back. But anytime I wanna talk about it, the stress and nerves overwhelm me and my eyes start welling up. Idk how to control it.

I have 2 offers to consider. What makes more sense?
Full time role with 3 weeks vacation and benefits or contract opportunity with 20k more in potential salary.

Little background, I have been a loyal employee and have only worked at 1 firm for about 6 years now. Looking for more growth and obviously money.

Need some suggestions on what to consider and any pitfalls that I should be aware of.

Thanks

I am currently at a firm and received an in-house offer. Aside from main items like comp and big ticket benefits like PTO/health insurance/401k, what other items do I need to think about discussing/negotiating? For example, fees to keep bar licensure, professional association fees, CLEs, etc. I feel like there is so much on that end I currently take for granted being covered at my firm. Anything else I should consider?

Something about me is both a curse and a blessing - I can't ignore what is not clear, logical, aligned, and simple. Even if that means that I have to work several minutes or hours extra on a document or an email. Things bother me if they aren't as expected. Unless I understand something clearly, I can't let it go. This is what helped me excel at studies. At work, my obsession makes it hard for people around me. If people complain about me, should I just let it go or change my approach?

Any advice on telling your boss you’re leaving your team? For context, I’m the 4th one leaving within a month (boring product, not toxic or anything), and the manager id be telling is my skip level, as my old manager left the team and I’m actually moving to his new team. Trying not to throw shade on my old (new? lol) manager bc I know that he spent all of his career in this department before moving. Is there any way to soften the blow, other than just giving a 2-3 week notice?
