I am an LPCC and love my degree and credentials. However I moved to a new state and the LMFT is much more “popular”/in demand here. My suggestion is if you want to be a therapist/counselor and provide direct service, research your options and what may be “more in demand” in your state. LPCC/LPC, LICSW, LMFT, or even Clinical Psychologist. If a certain philosophy speaks to you, go that route because interest will outweigh anything else in this field since burnout and turnover are so high.
Those would be great options, or you might also look into mental health consulting. I'm not sure what degree or certifications you might need to do that, but it might be another way to level up in your career.
I would recommend LCSW. They are very much in demand from a practice standpoint.
I definitely think you should go for the LCSW, it's a good way to stand out
