I’m in a bos/nyc LDR with my bf of 1.5 years. Covid has made things difficult as he’s extremely cautious about travel and is much more ok with virtual hangouts than I am. He’s also thriving during quarantine with new hobbies/free time while I’ve been struggling missing him and feeling like a downer. We both have flexible WFH jobs, but feel it’s too soon to move-in together. I’m really struggling with toughing it out given there’s no end in sight. Any tips for finding clarity?

Agree with A1. But would suggest starting with maybe a week or 10 days if y’all are squeamish about moving in. And if while you’re there (or he’s with you) you like it.... then stay longer. I think it’s a 4 hour drive, so just drive to mitigate his concerns about travel

Ask if you can come stay with him for a month. That way there is an out of things don't work out and you can frame it as a "much needed vacation" from your current location.

Wonder if people who claim to be more effective and efficient thanks to WFH and wish to never go back to the office are the same people whose jobs are more likely to get off-shored/ outsourced? Considering leaving Bain with 2 years in SM role, HSW MBA, and 11 years since undergrad. Google role is non-technical Cloud Strategy. Unsure of title or level at this point - called "lead" but contact indicated flexibility. Would be remote in a non-SF/NY location. Mgr indicated it was technically an individual contributor role though I would be managing 2 people. What comp/level should I expect (Assuming L6?)? What is the significance of the IC role if I'm technically managing 2?

I have been 😂😂😂 all morning all by myself. So, I started taking out my sew in cause this summer heat is killing me. I was about to take down the closure when I suddenly remembered that I had to be on a video call for work. So, I just brushed the closure and positioned myself in front of the camera as if I still have the full hair do. Front view is 💯. Back view is 🙈😂😂😂. When have you all had to improvise while WFH?

My friend gave birth 1.5 months early. She kept it on the dl due to some finds in the ultrasound. It’s her first child and he’s in the NICU (developmental issue). I want to send her something but am at a total loss. For any moms here, any ideas? Don’t know if she didn’t disclose earlier because the child’s survival odds are rare (his issue is very rare and there’s not a lot of medical literature on it). TIA
