Back in November, my manager filed a written warning with HR about my performance. I disputed it with HR and could negate most it with documentation, but HR said it had to stay. That manager soon left the firm, but my new manager wouldn’t drop it either. I do my job every day and there haven’t been any issues in months. I can’t move to a new role in the firm because hiring managers can see this written warning. What should I do?

I’m currently working at a T2 and have recently applied to all three MBB’s at the consultant level- each for the NYC office. I’ve been rejected at the resume stage for all three and not sure what went wrong. I have an M7 MBA, good work experience, and applied with a referral each time. I want to continue my education and in a few years apply to one of the bigger tech companies. Currently in a strategy role in tech. I went from being a 5 star analyst to borderline 1 star since Covid started due to lack of motivation, manager micro-managing every detail of project since WFH started etc. My work is now 90% ops, 10% strategy (was 75/25 strategy before), and my manager has taken over the few projects I used to own due to them not having much work themselves.
