I’m in a suburb of Chicago. Suburban malls have been looted. My local Target has closed. We just found out our local Dominos cancelled our order because they were told to close. Things are spreading outside downtown areas. Stay safe.

Complaining about your pizza order being canceled could be construed as a little tone deaf when we are talking about protesting a death-by-cop. It feels like complaining about mask mandates during a global pandemic that has killed 103k just in the US. Everyone experiences the world a little differently I guess.

OP: Hey everyone, there’s a potentially dangerous situation brewing in this area. Here is my evidence. Please be careful! SM1: Wow how tone deaf to complain about your pizza order being canceled right now

I just discovered using the map feature of Snapchat a lot of people are posting real time. Someone in Berwyn just documented a bunch of state trooper SUVs in a line headed into Chicago, and basically every red spot is some kind of action. I saw both peaceful BLM protests and places being broken into.

I checked out Snapchat because of this. Most of it seemed to be from yesterday regarding the looting.

We were just in a t-bone, hit and run car accident in the middle of Lincoln park. The office who came to make the report said the rioters were stealing cars and causing accidents all over the city, and showed us pictures of intersections across the city with car debris everywhere. There isn’t a safe part of the city anymore

like

EY2 yes, that’s what the officer told us. The other cars entire front bumper came off along with the license plate, so the police can look up whether or not it was stolen. This also happened 1 block away from a school where there were kids taking graduation photos, and it pains me to think if this crazy driver had plowed through those kids. C1 I said rioters, not protestors internationally.

Chicago is an absolute war zone right now. Downtown looks like it’s been sacked by an invading army.

Pretty much same, police barricaded off a mall bc of threats of looting

BUY A GUN NOW

EY1 Handguns can be a fine choice as well. I was comparing to an AR15. 1. Shotguns are less likely to overpenetrate and potentially hit a neighbor. Bird shot ammo may even be better than buck shot for this purpose. 2. Shotguns don’t require as much precision to hit the target. 3. Racking a shotgun can be intimidating to an intruder and may help prevent you from having to use it. 4. Shotguns are probably one of the last types of guns politicians would try to ban. Many of the same arguments could be made about shotguns vs. handguns, but handguns have other advantages. Everyone’s situation and needs are different. I have a Glock 9mm and that would probably be the first thing I’d reach for in many situations.

where at?

Oh boy.

The snap maps “hot” areas are tough to see but I can understand why people are joining in on looting the pharmacies and grocery stores right now - because there simply won’t be anything left for families that need to eat or have their basic supplies.

New one here wanting to start taking control of my finances. Cleared $100K in student loans by 28. Got a new role with annual salary of $145K now. Next year I’ll be getting married and we’ll be pulling jointly over 260K +. Restricting my Roth contribution. I currently have a 401K (48K balance) and a brokerage (26K balance). I just opened up a Roth although I think this year would be the only year I can contribute 6K into it. Where else should I spread my money long term?

Saw this on LinkedIn this morning. I must admit at times I don’t get questioned by just men but women as well who don’t understand why I’m working tirelessly for equality. They either state it’s an uphill battle or “all in my head.” Has anyone been told that gender equality is a mirage? How did you handle the situation? No wrong answers!
