I’m in a weird situation. I agreed to a mutual departure from my company. At least that’s how it was framed to my team. But in reality I was forced out en route to getting terminated. My replacement is from offshores and this is known to the team. Do I tell my colleagues and friends what actually transpired? Do I leave into the abyss and hope the story holds? Right now everyone seems happy for me that I’m moving on to greener pastures. I’m just worried the story won’t hold.

Does anyone have sound advice for dealing with nitpicking feedback from a skip-level manager? I'm all for constructive feedback but something tells me that this individual might be out for me. I've worked here for 5+ years, I'm good at what I do and I show interest in my work. The feedback I receive feels out of place.

I’m a new associate working for a well-known defense attorney in my state. On one hand, I’m thankful for the opportunity to learn from one of the best, but he also excoriates and belittles me for my mistakes. Any advice on how much it tolerable? I am here to learn and advance my career but he can be pretty nasty. (My mistakes are no worse than you’d expect a 1st year associate to make, in case you’re all wondering if I’m a major screw-up who deserves it) I leave work feeling a foot tall.

Any thoughts on how do we deal with an incompetent boss who you dont look up to and have no trust that you would ever get credit for the work you would do for him/her? Given that changing the boss is not an option.

Diagnosed with ADHD at 40. Tried Vyvanse for a couple of months. It works in terms of depriving grogginess, afternoon post meal crash, and suppressing appetite (at times).

However, I still needed help planning/prioritizing my day,  listening and active note taking, and keeping myself accountable. So decided to replace meds with coffee. Also, the fact that most people on meds had to progressively increase their medication over time did not sit well with me. (cont'd)

This past year I’ve been feeling especially burnt out. Briefs are taking longer to click and it’s a struggle to come up with creative ideas. Even when I come back from a few days off, I find myself unable to focus on even the smallest project. I’ve thought about switching agencies or go in-house in hopes that new clients will get me excited and eager to work, but worried I’ll find myself in the same boat. The need to pay bills seems to be the only thing keeping me going. Any advice??? Plzzz

I’ve seen a lot of media portray it as “people who refused to leave after the peaceful LEGAL protest finished” (implying that this was illegal and not peaceful) but... why were they at central station then? Maybe they were waiting for trains to go home?
