I’m in an internal audit / risk consulting role (2+ years) but really want to pivot towards a more financial position (analysis/modeling). Would getting my Masters in Finance be my best shot?

If you’re hiring for sr analyst roles , what tradeoff would you be comfortable ? Business acumen and prior knowledge of industry/ function or core data analytics skills ? Need both at end of day but candidates are strong in only one of the two areas. Assume candidates are coachable and willing to learn.

Got an offer to work at a boutique PE fund as an intern for the next few months. The role is however unpaid and the fund is new.

For some background, I’m going to be starting at a T-2 firm doing CDD for PE funds in January. Wondering if getting this kind of experience looks good when I apply to analyst roles 1-2 years out? Don’t want to work without getting paid unless the experience is valuable. Would love any perspective on this.

Q for HR folks! For companies who have offices in US and Canada, how easy would it be for American HR team to set up a role & compensation via the Canadian office for a Canadian remote worker? Would be a lot of work? But i know companies like Meta and Spotify do do this.

I'm Canadian and applied to a US remote role. Canadians don't need a visa for this. One of the ways would be to use Canadian entity's hr/payroll services. They showed keen interested but waned since finding out I'm Canadian.

How would you rate your ratios for work, play, and rest?

My life's mostly been 85% work/serious stuff (includes academia), 10% rest, and 5% play.

I've only started to learn to rest more this year and learning to accept lower productivity (was part of the hustle culture).

Q: How do I learn the concept of play? Didn't have that in my childhood growing up. All serious, no fun. Has anyone transitioned successfully?

I feel like a boring, old lady 😔😒

What is your definition of play?

Hi all. I am licensed in life, accident and health and am looking for new opportunities. I’ve been working in employee benefits in a small brokerage firm on a book of business of over 400 clients, I’m the only account manager. We’ve had 100% employer retention since I’ve been here. I am a high performer, but not sure I’m valued much at all . I want to reach the top and become partner in my career ; this is why I went to work for a small firm. Hi everyone!

How tough is it to break into a FAANG PM role at mid-level if you have less prestigious experience? I wanted to spread a little positivity this Friday afternoon. I just started a new job after casually interviewing for several months at the start of the year to do a little research on the marketing job market, and then seriously interviewing/searching since May. After coming close with several other jobs but something always going wrong (low ball pay, role put on hold, etc.) I finally got THE job. I’m excited about it, I’m paid well, and fully remote. So don’t settle, and don’t give up! ✨

Hi Fishes, I need some help.
So I've got the offer letter from Genpact today, but I have to send the required docs and BGV should happen and then in 3-4 days they might send Joining/Appointment letter.
So my doubt is, shall I inform the current Consultancy that I'm rejecting their offer? Or shall I wait till I get the appointment letter from Genpact and then inform the consultancy?
It's already been 15+ days since I've joined the company via consultancy.
PS: I have just joined on 3rd Feb on C2H
