I have a similar question - I am not so close to US citizenship(15 years maybe), but well off here. I am getting an opportunity to move to Europe. That means I leave easy path of US citizenship for my children who will born here in coming years. On the other hand, I (with family) will get EU citizenship in next 5 years, which will give access to job, colleges in multiple countries than US.
It’s a difficult choice for me.

D2 - what Netherlands doesn’t give citizenship anymore? What changed?
You only live once. Take the chance and make the move! All the best.
On a separate note, people who have only lived in the US get surprised hearing these comments. I am also an immigrant from a European country. I believe the US is a much more dynamic country with full of opportunities. Very happy living here. Married with kids and not considering to go back to my home county.
Get Aussie citizenship... There are special Visa classes for them to work in the US
This times a million. You are seriously underestimating the stress of US immigration, you would have a major head start if you had Aus citizenship
Wait for Aus citizenship and apply for E3 visa. Better than L1/ H1B visa. Win- win
I’d also stay away from the US until we have clarity on election
Yup wait for Australian citizenship and then transfer to US with L1A
Why is the US more attractive than Australia? I wouldn’t have moved
E3 Visa needs to be renewed every 2 years and there is no path to immigrate if you are on E3,have to go down the H1B route..If one wants to immigrate L1A route is definitely the best...

Worst mistake you will make. Getting here during uncertain times and giving up for citizenship! Go figure!
Get your Aus citizenship first and then apply E3. Then you don’t have to go through lottery process and worry about 6 years max.
I’m Australian and advise against pining your hopes on the E3. It’s a non-immigrant intent visa and similar to L1, ties you to your employer indefinitely. The minute you lose your job, you have to leave the country. I moved to the H1B so I could apply for a GC and have some life security.
The important question is where were you born and how long would GC take. L1 visa is limited to one employer so thats something to consider. You can always try for h1b visa lottery too but its a matter of luck and I wasn't selected 3 times. Also US firm is a completely different ball game. Bar is much higher than elsewhere
Well then just make sure you are OK with this being temporary for a few years and tou have a plan for after. I'm not indian but I read here about 150 year long wait periods for gc so do your research first

A friend of mine applied for the Green Card lottery from Australia and won. You can wait for the Australian citizenship and apply for the lottery.

No, lottery goes by country of birth.
