I suck at this job. I make mistakes all the time and partners get on me about them. It’s not because I try to make mistakes but they just happen, far more frequently than I’d like. I’m a third year so I have no clue how I lasted this long to be honest. My anxiety levels are on a 10 because I’m so used to being an overachiever but my suckiness is standing out big time.

Second year lateraling to a new firm and changing practice group - do I have any ground to stand on as far as negotiating bonuses? (Signing, Covid, year end, etc.)

At what point would a firm start questioning an associate’s billable hours total? Since WFH, I’ve taken on a few doc review projects to keep hours up but I feel like some clients/peers are skeptical

I’m applying for an associate position at a big law firm. I graduated law school last year but immediately went in-house at a large corporation and I’m now looking to make a move to a firm setting.

In my role at the corporation, I haven’t gotten to draft anything substantial. I’ve put together a couple of memos but only one reaches 10 pages and it’s not particularly interesting. Is it bad if I use a more impressive writing sample from my 2L summer?

does anyone else feel like a failure for hating biglaw? i always thought i loved money and prestige and it turns out i like money but i don't care that much about prestige and god i hate this job.
