Any thoughts on ARKK and MGK ?
I am deputed at the client office. I use PSL laptop only to check mails. But in my last appraisal my manager told me that I need to get 60 credit points for promotion. But due to client work load, i won't be able to do that. So, I have resigned from PSL mentioning the same that promotion will not happen.
But my manager told me that he will try to give me a promotion in next cycle (ignoring the credit points clause). He is asking me to withdraw resign
Shall I withdraw my resign? Persistent

Basically no. You can get an offer from a different firm and threaten to leave, and if they don’t match you, you have to leave. Especially at new senior level, and generally in big 4 internal promotions, there’s no negotiation.

^this, you only got leverage when you threaten to leave or when you start at a new job
Agree with EY1. There are so many people that basically have the same role (audit staff, tax senior, etc) that it would be a debacle if we gave raises based on who complains the loudest or negotiates the best. It’s not like in industry where your raise might be a bit arbitrary. In PA your raise is based on specific things and the same methodology is applied against everyone to make it as fair as possible.
Firms generally don’t negotiate comp adjustments, period. If you don’t like it, go elsewhere. I’ve only seen it work once and my colleague likely could have sued the pants off the firm if they hadn’t negotiated with the person.
If your department is short staffed, their desperate, and you’re a high performer you can leverage that but it’s a dangerous game to play. Partners don’t like having terms dictated to them regardless of the situation
Why partners don’t like this ? Why they don’t care about high performers quitting because they’re burning out and don’t think the salary is sufficient ?
