Much easier to get accepted to top programs as a permanent resident (or with expectation that green card will come through before program start). This is especially true for those from over-represented countries like India and China.
Recruiting is MUCH easier if you don't need to be sponsored. Since your ability to find work coming out of an MBA program is considered as part of the admissions process, your status is important.
