At my company they def make less than attorneys and this has become a point of contention when we hire a former practicing attorney into the role so we don’t do it anymore

like

Just curious, what salary scale are you considering “well paid?”

like

Above 50000

It's a non-attorney role and fit for someone that doesn't want the burden of giving legal advice and enjoys more of a legal support role. That being said, we don't hire attorneys for our contract managers/legal analysts. You'll also need several years of commercial contract review experience to be considered. Also, a legal analyst position is usually in the 100-120k base range in the SF Bay Area.

I did this type of role straight out of law school while looking for a legal position. It was a good stepping stone for me to go in-house right away but I had much less autonomy, got paid less than the attorneys, and had to run everything by the attorneys (couldn’t make decisions on my own). I was also very limited in the type of work I was able to do - eg sales contracts only. If you’re using it to make your way in-house, I think it can be good, but otherwise as a lawyer I’m not sure you would be satisfied.

Thanks for the insight

I can honestly say that working from home these last few years has been the best thing that’s happened to my career as a producer. I never realized how distracting being in an office was. Now, I actually can focus on bidding, scheduling, reviewing contracts, and all of the stressful parts of production WITHOUT having to factor in code switching and a commute. I left my agency producer role for a fully remote producing role and I’m just….thrilled. Anyone else refuse to go back to office? 😩
