I’m in the process of adopting a new puppy. However before this came through I had already schedule a ten-day vacation. Is it a terrible idea to go through with the adoption? Should I just postpone until I get back? Hire a pet sitter? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I received a verbal offer for a VP position at CCB line of business at JPMC in NYC two weeks ago. The recruiter asked for salary expectations but there was no number set. PTO Dilemma: I have over 100 hours of PTO remaining from hours carried over from last year that must be used before 12/31. I scheduled out days to use the hours. However, when I put my scheduled PTO in the Utilization Tracker, and include the Thanksgiving holiday and the Collective Disconnect days, I end up below my utilization target. How is that possible? Is it me or is there really something wrong with how utilization is calculated?-

MIT Sloanies - why do they flake so much? Connection to the school seems weak.

After being admitted, I reached out to other current students at other M7s and generally they’ll spend 10 to 30 minutes to chat.

Sloan’s hit rate is 50% and requires multiple follow ups for the ones who agree to talk. One even suggested to correspond via email. I mean these are current 2Ys who are basically on half vacation. And I’m an admit - not some random asking “what is the culture”.

I was interviewing with a new position when the promo came.

Have one last interview but I'm likely to get the job.

New position is 10k more than old salary but 15k less than new one.

Gets me out of public accounting (better WLB) and into a space I'm interested in.

Also gets me out of tax (major goal) into a more general finance role.

I'm thinking try it for a year or two, see how it goes, and jump if needed.

What can I do to save this dog?

Some half a year ago, my gf moved across the country and took the family dog with her. It's an eight year old purse dog that no one ever bothered disciplining or socializing. Not really house trained, and the last flight she was on, the flight attendant threatened to put her on the no fly list. The dog won't sit still and scratches and lightly bites if held down, and tries to start fights with other dogs.
