I'm in the risk assurance/advisory practice at Pwc. I have my CISA. If I don't get my CPA how will that affect my career? Am I doomed if I ever leave public accounting and go into industry?

CPA only would be needed if you want to move into an accounting function (technical accounting, financial reporting, etc...).

like

No, you gonna be fine. You have the risk assurance experience along with CISA. You can work in IT Audit group in any industry. Having the CPA would be beneficial but not required.

like

As a partner in that group I can yell you first hand you will be fine. I left as a senior for about 3 years and came back and did not get my CPA till I was a senior manager and the decision to do that was more long term goal oriented (become a partner as opposed to principal).

like

Not doomed. Many industry jobs require letters OR a certain number of years / type of experience. Unless practicing law internally, where JD would be required, experience carries the day in industry for tax and accounting

You're fine!!!

Plus my current financial situation is stressful and I accepted the offer on certain conditions but now hr or the firm but saying we can't committ you. Any suggestions.

I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. How could I best leverage my skills for a role in this, and what should my expectations be for negotiation in compensation?

Roommate(and close friend) and I got an opportunity to buy the condo we're renting. We'd talked about maybe buying it in a year or two and really love our place but we both graduated and started working in June/July.

Condo: 350k
Salaries: 90-100k for both of us
$1500/mo in rent each

Savings: $12k/$1k (covers 3.5% FHA)
Sister offered $8k loan for closing expenses

Debts:45k/25k After all expenses, debt payment, savings I usually have $1k/mo to spend - not sure on him

Can we do it?
