If your wife was born in Germany then you should be a dependent on her gc application. She and you will get your green cards within a year of application. Accha phansaya hai boss 👏
Will I be the depending event if my firm is the one sponsoring the GC?
Look up cross chargeability online. You should be able to do it.
That would be Germany’s wait time assuming your wife was born in Germany.

Spouse born in Germany you can have your own GC petition filed with her priority date advantage. Thats a benefit under cross chargibility rule. go for it
So to summarize, OP (Indian born) will be able to leverage his wife (Germany born) for the green card application and benefit the lesser wait time/backlog, though it is OP’s company sponsoring the green card application? Thanks to cross-chargibility?

Appears to be as taught to me on this thread. I didn't know about this cross thing at all.

Do you also hold German nationality?
Nope, my nationality is Indian
You cannot apply for a green card yourself, your employer would do that and wait time would be based on Germany
Sorry, should have clarified. My firm will apply for it but I wanted to check how long will it take
If your employer files a GC petition for you then you should be able to leverage your wife's nationality for lesser wait time.
Got it. So country of birth of my wife, correct?
Wait time is based on country of Birth.
