I’m interested in investing in TCG’s like Pokémon, Magic, and MetaZoo. Any ideas where to start? Not really interested in crypto and nft’s and this looks like a pretty healthy alternative asset class.

I use eBay for sports cards and Pokémon. Just be careful, as everything has gone way up in the last two years. As a start, I’d recommend picking one area you’re really interested in and taking a look at eBay recently sold. Also, you can see a pretty decent price history for most cards on the PSA website. That should give you a good idea of fair price for whatever you’re looking for. Then, start searching/bidding.

Anyone know of someone who exited to Neom and their experience? Heard plenty of stories about it being a mess down there/hugely startup based environment. However, the 30% bump with housing/meals covered seems lucrative and the hours are relatively decent (compared to consultancies)

Considering an offer and would appreciate any insights.

Hey guys!

I took the Gallup Strength test recently on a coach's advice and found out I have most of my top skills (7 out of my top 10) in Strategic Thinking. This tells me I might be a good fit in strategy management, product development, perhaps even consulting.

My education and work experience up until this point has been in mechanical engineering. Can someone help me navigate a transition into such roles without going back to school immediately (I am open to it in the future).

Thanks!

I work for a company that was acquired by a PE company about a year ago. They gave employees a co-investment opportunity that included A and B shares. They initially said they would do a valuation after a year and then quarterly thereafter. They have since delayed the first valuation by 3 months and switched to yearly valuation cycles. Is this a good or bad sign? What’s your experience with co-investments under EP?

I can see myself buying a place in ~5 years. Currently I’m saving $1k/month toward down payment and putting $1k/month to Roth IRA via MBD (after maxing out 401k and HSA). I’m not sure the range of down payment I’ll need, so I just assume the more I can accumulate the better. Would you stop contributing to the Roth IRA to put more toward saving for a down payment for the time being or keep on as is?

College savings question: I have a 4 year old. Here in Pennsylvania, I can deduct a whopping $30k a year in 529 contributions from my state income (married filing jointly). I already have $50k in the plan. Should I invest the max for the next two years, then slow way down or even stop, and just let compounding do the work? I have curren cash flow and savings to do it, and taking care of college now might allow me to take a lower paying government job, which interests me.

Have 30k in RSUs vesting soon. I was thinking of using it to back door ROTH IRA for both my wife and I - 12k this year and 12k for next year (6k each per year). So make post tax contributions to our IRA’s and then immediately rollover to Roths. I can then buy the same vesting stock again if I wanted to. Anything I should know before I do this?
