Inclusion question. I am not sure what gender pronouns my barber prefers. This person appears to be a male (full beard, deep voice, etc.). I’ve noticed that the Google reviews reference this person as a female and when I called the shop to ask for my barber - the person who picked up also used a female pronoun. Barber has never corrected me when I refer to them as a man… I want to be inclusive and respect their identity. How can do this respectfully?
We spout gender equality, but often ask women to do things men don't get asked to do. From organizing lunches/events at work (pre-Rona), to babysitting our siblings because we are girls with motherly insticts. It is generally expected that women do certain things that are "for the good of the community" which is just unpaid work for no praise. Let's change this. Let's start the change at home and it will translate elsewhere If you won't ask your son to do it, don't ask your daughter to do it.

I’m seeing a lot of posts where leadership has been committed to making changes, but one thing I’ve noticed no one speaking about is transparency in pay equity. Ensuring there’s diversity in hiring future employees is great, but what are they doing to support pay equity with their current BIPOC employees. How can we ask leaders to release this type of data?
I am new to consulting, and I just witnessed (virtually) a staffing conversation between a Partner and Director that a new project was to be staffed based first by identifying how to meet a quota for “diversity consultants” first. Please educate me. Is this the new normal? I am all about diversity in the work place, but I never encountered staffing by an internal diversity quota before.

Top teeth have shifted back to some extent, bottom teeth have built in retainer so haven’t moved. Back at parents home now and want to fix this mistake, what are realistic expectations? Full Invisalign program ~ 2-3k, Orthodontist to give me some break since we’ve already paid X thousand, some middle ground? Just want to try and be prepared on fair expectations.

Need to give notice to my firm tomorrow. Feeling overcome with emotion (guilt, nostalgia, excitement and trepidation). I don't think it will go well because it's a small firm, and I am very close to the partners, but need to move on to achieve career goals (and maintain sanity--I have a great relationship with my colleagues but there is a toxic culture). Truly think that my mentor will see this as a personal betrayal and blow up at me, and I'm sad to burn the bridge. Any words of encouragement?
