I’m interviewing at outside companies during my performance review cycle. All signs point to a positive performance review so far and my manager has even brought up the very likely possibility of a promotion within the next six weeks. But I’m interviewing elsewhere as I’d like to open myself up to different opportunities due to the work culture and compensation in my current role. Will accepting a promotion and then potentially leaving weeks after hurt my resume and burn bridges? Any advice?

Nope I have seen folks do it all the time and go on to do great things

No. It is a fairly common thing to do.

Not necessarily. You might want to be upfront with your manager that you are considering other offers.

Why would you want to do that?

Promo & dip is super common. Don’t worry

Thinking of doing something similar tbh - I think it's fine to do and the market is in your favor so might as well

Fishes need advice, I'm a M3 and my Partners have repeatedly told me that I am the strongest candidate for promotion this year, they haven't said it for sure though. I got contacted by Deloitte Digital, and I am being offered a Senior Manager role with a slight bigger pay when compared to my estimated salary after promotion (10k per year). Is it worth changing? what are your thoughts?

I have 3 different offers on the table rn. 1. Staying in my current consulting agency with a slight raise. Way underpaid, no colleagues I like - but a lot of freedom. 2. Switching agencies. 60% higher salary, colleagues I do know and like from projects we did together with several customers - fewer freedoms. 3. Customer offered me internal position. Great office hours, lots of vacation, great salary. But tbh: leaving consulting and project work? Don’t want this to happen. What you think?

Should I entertain offers already or hold off a little longer? No firm offers yet because I haven’t accepted any interviews etc. but some are definitely very interested.
