I’m interviewing for a company that is very data-driven.

My current company, however, is not so data driven and sometimes decide to work on things based on intuition or user research. How often does this happen at other companies and is it normal?

My next round is going to be talking about past experiences focusing on metrics and looking at why I decided to work on certain projects.

Should I make numbers up OR be honest about it and explain what I would’ve done if I had more data?

If I were you, I will tell them that the priority of my previous company was not based on data decisions, but if I was given the opportunity to explore the options and choose based on data, I will do this.. this.. and this..

There are many many companies that doesnt relay on data at all other than the ones estimated by their sales team. You can be honest about it yet show that there are certain metrics that you care for and that you are aware of the tools that would help you to get needed insight and data.

Same here. Was working for a big company, where decisions what to work on were based on which features we promised to customers by when. Did not use any KPIs or OKRs. Was asking myself the same as OP 😅

Be honest about your constraints, but own your own method and decision making process. Demonstrate how you've used data to inform your work, even in the lack of a company standard.

I received an offer for 78K (lowball) the range for the roll was 78 to 90 K and during my initial interview I stated my expectations were 90 K. Is negotiating for 87-90k too much? I have other prospects where the low end of the range is 90, with the highs being 120.

For this role I am over qualified and even though I don’t particularly want to work with the company low balling me .. I’d like to have this offer as a safety in case the others don’t work out.

Thoughts?

Hi,

Is it fine to call a HR if he's not answering. I have my HR discussions pending.

I called him once a day (twice on 2nd day with a gap of 4-5hrs in between)
for two days straight and third day he picked my call for scheduling the final interview.

It's been a week & he told I would receive a call from his team before today, but didn't receive.

Can I call him to remind or just keep on waiting till I receive a call from them.

Getting a reply for mail is highly unlikely. Please suggest

Why the heck WLB is so bad in ZS across all projects, why cant senior leadership do something about it when they know it is the major reason many talented candidates are declining their offer.
Infact I have seen in few interviews, they upfront warn candidates/interviewees about working hours and ask them if they are ready to work long hours. Is this even ethical?

As a PM, I feel as though I should own and manage the product. But Senior Leadership often comes to me with “we’ve promised this to a client so you have to build it”.
